Far too early for me but if you have 'em you could delay the hatch by 3 days may be. I am gonna split mine at Christmas. My babbies will be bread in the warmth and grow overnight like mushrooms.

Might be worth taking eggs in to the house for a couple o' days put pot eggs under the parents and then put propper eggs back under a couple o' days later. You'll get the rings on then !

I've chanced me arm on some, Busschaert's, however was charged twice, and the next time it weren't the right bird. Worth a punt but keep an eye on 'em cos they seem a bit lapsidasical in the office.

We all want to get as close to the top birds as we can but money dictate's. I think you can get good birds from anywhere. The man at the bottom of the sheet every week will still aquire the best he can, and some of these in better hands can and will do well. As for foreign pedigree's I think it's often a case of what's not on it that counts. I saw a beauty at Telford and a very unconvincing pedigree, but then I was not looking to buy birds, if I were a bloke called Raymond Molevend has what I would be looking for.

Got to agree with that. If you want good birds we should all be looking that way.

I always treat cocci and kanker a week apart, I never seperate as other birds may look fine but still carry. E-coli and salmonella will respond to acidified water ie: cider vinegar or lemon juice.

Table spoon of cider vinegar or lemon juice with crushed garlic in the water just to stop it getting worse, then treat when you get your stuff. Don't know what your gonna use but coxoid in the water and single spartrix tablets together has no ill effects. I would be careful treating cocci and kanker at one time as you never know how two drugs together will react.

I have a variety of colours barless and grizzles etc and have just bought some whites and I was 2nd sec 20th MNFC with a barless and had a grizzle that has won previously flown Palamos 751 mile. The whites however I bought in cos a friend of my wife found out I keep pigeons and wanted me to supply them for funerals. Well this I will do but they got to race as yearlings.

They would sit for 20 days maybe but very young hens might not sit the full 18 days anyway, after this if they go down on eggs then let them and keep the young. I have a very old cock I have recently bought, should his hen lay and they are fertile, I will keep them, late bred or early for next year. I paid good money for old pigeons if I get two pair at any time I will be more than happy with that.

If they are only young I might put pot eggs under and let them sit them out first mind

I breed latebreds for the old hens national and train with youngbirds. If they are well and fit to breed it don't matter, but I would always put rings on.
