70 to 80 miles approx for most fanciers

it is looking like the weather for race will be mild for a xmus race also a strong SW wind.which will help the birds get up the road. so looking like it could be a quick race.wonder what time and velocity the birds will do it in. don,t think it will be to long before birds go up.

their are 259 birds sent to race

disagree i won it in 2009 with a hen she was the least fittest of the 4 birds i sent .she spent 3 week in loft with hens .i then added her to team let her back in to her own loft 4 or 5 training tosses .she got added to team because of loses training. so it is not always the fittest that wins it.she wanted back quick to claim her box next pan and her mate also to keep the other hen out that i kept putting in her box.vel 727 ypm a very testing race cheers wes

are dogs in house or kennel .rough or smooth coat .how old are dogs.also do the dogs hunt

i think this race is diffrent from club fed races . the prep is for me is diffrent the feed the training ect. if it was a club fed race 70 miles be lucky to have birds in basket 4 or 5 times.also your avrage club fed race from 70 miles would be over in 2 hours dont thint this will be over in 2 hours

south in the wind does not suit my birds .also if birds not done a lot of work the the south in the wind would help them out. looking at the weather for race now it will be a tough race .with a WSWwind at the home end 25 to 40 mph with 99% cloud cover rain and some mist.
-
well done top class
-
if wind stays same it,s wrong way for me. it will be ok for any fancier thats sending and not done a lot with birds
-
nice looking birds which strain are thay

race now only a week away .looking at the long range forcast it,s for a very fast race with a 14 to 28mph SSW wind behind them. it could turn out to be a trapping race.with the fanciers with ETS having the birds clocked in a few seconds quicker than fanciers with manual clocks.

i have raced 4 years birds on natural open bowl. yes birds land on roof come in and out loft all day. give birds main feed at say6 oclock on light nights birds will come in no probs.if you want birds down when birds see you give them peanuts as a treat. doing my birds this way over the 4 years birds have won from 60 to 428 miles also topped fed from yb nat both inland nats and ypres nat twice and won opens.so don,t let anyone talk you out of giving it a go.birds are happy and a lot less stress on OPEN BOWL

A woman goes to the Doctor in Glasgow, worried about her husband's temper and threatening manner. The Doc asks: "What's the problem, Janet? The woman says: "Weeell Doctor Cameron, I dinae know what to do. Every time ma hubbie comes home drunk, he threatens to slap mearoon'." The Doctor says: "Aye, well... I have a real good cure for that. When your husband arrives home intoxicated, just take a wee glass of water and start swishing it in your mouth. Just swish and swish but don't swallow it until he goes to bed and is sound asleep." Two weeks later she comes back to the doctor looking fresh and reborn. She says: "Doctor that was brilliant! Evrae time ma hubbie came homedrunk, I swished with water. I swished an' swished, and he didnae touch me even once! Tell me Doc...wha's the secret? How's the water do that?" The Doctor says: "Janet, it's really nae big secret. The water does bugger all - it's keeping yourmouth shut that does the trick..."
