as i said club fed only and when i manage to get distance birds. i will get my advice on what to feed and how to train my birds from fanciers who have won nationals . and the informasion i need on how the birds should handle. if i am still not sure the i will invite them down and i know one or two would be more than glad to help. its good to have freinds who can and will help.watch this space

i was told to hold the bird in your hand close your eyes . imagine putting it in water would it float or sink . if it floats it is in tip top condition it should race well .as the muscles fell like cork. best advice i have had as it has worked out club fed only up to 326 mile . have not raced further YET .

only thing with feeding seagulls at round about same time each day don,t forget as you soon relise as i have had them on house roof behind loft screming on his dinner.

when i raced a few years ago i used to feed the seagulls.. i have seen seagulls atack hawks and seagulls make a hell of a racket when hawk is about. i will do the same this year .

spot on with this one as i have been guilty of not listening to good solid advice and lost good birds now i try to ask in my opinion the best available person to ask

as with all things as a novice you pick out who,s advice suites your set up . as you can,t take on everybody's advice as we dont all agree on somethings. most of us agree on the main things. ie loft ventilation clean food fresh grit. will stop their as someone might not agree.

some sprint birds up hear are aimed at a race in December and i for one do ok with them. start to train end November for race on 20th dec lost one training . and one at race one at race was wire SHOT or hawk. and on one day training we hit snow sleet and rain on way home plus NNW wind birds where back before us.

if it was hawk feet or skulls their is not one of you would blink an eye

it will be my 1st club race after being out for 3 year cant wait to clock my 1st bird and hope i am i the running. how much i miss the Saturday adrenalin rush when that 1st bird arrives
