  1. yea, Paratyphoid injections are not compulsary, if you have not treated before for Paratyphoid i would just treat with para-stop then if they stop responding after a couple of years then jab
  2. Paratyphoid injections after the moult but atleast 1 month before breeding, paramyxovirus i would do them now and keep them away from the others for 14 days and jab all of them before racing next year, including the latebred young, thats what i would do, some people jab twice a yer anyway so it will do no harm, hope this helps
  3. not sending my young hens too the bitter end, now i have to keep extra for next year as i dont want to cull birds that have done nowt wrong, and will be on the dark too

    hens

How do you sort out your hens, i had 24 hens and managed to get them down to 18 but still need to get rid of 5, all good hens and well bred, i dont race hens so no way to judge the very best out of them, would be interesting to see how everyone else pulls there hair out with this one ;D
  8. A bird that i was not going to race i would, i culled the best bird i my loft just weeks ago, as i dont have room for stock and i new that it would not race next year, so it had no place, i am not saying that it is the best way for you to go but its my way, I dont even no that it will effect the moult :-/

  10. i wont treat in the moult as Dr van de sluis advise not to treat for paratypoid (dont know how to spell it)in the molt he says it effects the proper growth, amoxicillin does they same so i would stay away from it, i know that it is just a penacillin for bacterial infection, but thats just me, i dont know if it would effect it, The thing is, if my birds mess up on the molt they cant get another chance due to room, so they have to go anyway
  11. i would not have them on that in the moult, jmo
  12. true i do it myself, and the fed sec texts me when they are up
  13. We all agree that it cost too much, as at the end of the day it’s just a answer machine Wot I suggest is that when the club sec is informed they record it on the machine of a cheap mobile, then it cost 10p instead of 1.50
