Jist read yer post Jim , I've tickets in the 70ties in fact I gave john Thompson the first pigeon that I timed out of the SNFC she as the tame hen , a 1969 bird in fact it died up in johns loft , I was flying in fed with Aberdeen George Mitchell was the sec , before Aberdeen went on there own what I said was when the fed broke up at that meeting if my mind is right was held in the Royal Oke in Banff ,at finish of meeting it was taken up as a good will gesture that NO poaching of members , and again I never mentioned huge amounts of birds , but I can assure you there was huge amount of members , the Fraserburgh club had 44 members when I was secretary , but we didn't need huge amounts of doos as you mention , we didn't loose the doos then as is happening , now but there's one certain thing y mention it was great racing , and yes I really enjoyed flying in the top National club in Aberdeenshire the Fraserburgh Invitation & later called Fraserburgh & district , with marvellous SNFC pos against record birdcage , 4 5 6 7 8 thousand birds so yes birdage was huge, not like now , as ye must know on its last legs , but am still not sure what yer getting at , I don't think I know you , was y even born when the Aberdeen fed was formed , anyway Jim have a good year racing , but I can't say against HUGE CONVOYS of birds , cheers -

Ryan Aberdeen is out side of our boundary , that was an agreement when the Aberdeen left the fed , in 1968 , for poaching members , Willie Ross put in for fed membership in 2008 , when I was president , of the fed , and that's in the minitues , there was a special meeting held and there was a vote , taken and the result of the vote was 100 % Willie was miles out of the fed boundary , but Willie phoned me and asked ta be given training facilities in the North Of Scotland FED , I brought this up and again there was a vote taken for convoying facilities , 100 % YES when there was room on lorry after the Scottish races , I had ta give up the president post , and the new president John Thompson , off his own bat agreed ta allow Willie ta join our fed , I phoned John and I couldn't repeat what I said on here , I would be banned for a thousand years , but I went ta the SHU explained the situation , and Linda brooks wrote ta john Thomson , asking for the fed boundary , and john Thompson , & Paul Thompson , went down ta SHU office with a road map and I am sure it was marked on it from wick ta Inverbervie , I had a letter but can't find it , I've nothing against John Thompson , Willie Ross , but my heart goes out for you Ryan , as I knew this would happen , but the boundary for Inverurie if I can remember , was town clock in Inverurie via 4 mile west of meldrum out ta Copley taking in Sandy Robb , Bob Macenzie , Blackburn ,? So Ryan Anybody can join our fed , regarding the boundary , the SHU has NOW ? -

I've been in this fed for 51 years , and in that time as far as I am aware is the come back race was used from just across the forth , for late breeds and birds that have been injured and that race was arniston , ma merry , etc , surly its yer Worksop , and Peterburgh , races that's used for Hastings, and making yer channel birds right for the long hauls , what good is these two Ripon, races , surly not for averages , Well if it's distance races y want Geo Duncan , solve the problem , at the next AGM , use the Scorrish National races for all averages , that will sort yer averages out pretty early in club just have , Ypres and Finnish up with a 600 mile race , not putting yer birds back and forth like a boomerang , that's why the Nationals are not being attended give them distance races , that's what the North Of Scotland was famous for long distance, now it's been ruined by bloody inland races ? -
am I missing something the weather is perfect at the race point , why is the birds not going ta the appropriate fed race point and the birds would have been homeward bound now cheers all the best with the sprint trainers ?
-
Yes Colin and that cutting other clubs seals and overfilling them is breaking all SHU rules , separating my birds this morning , ta be frank it makes y want ta pack the bloody things up , feathers out of there backs just tail feathers and secondary feathers that is only with one thing climbing on top of each other , it's a disgrace, any one can come and see them as this can only be by overcrowding ? Please let the clubs know if this is going ta be the way of things in this fed at any 70 or 120 mile race point , I would certainly not be sending mine so that these that want there second deserts can have my spaces , as I don't keep birds for other fanciers ta bad use them as that is exately what is happening , I've been a member of this fed for 51 years and all that time every club had there own clubs names on them when the lorry was replaced we the FDFC marked all our crates at our own expense, only for some ta rip them off just a pity he didn't rip them off in front of me things would not be like this now , time for going back ta the status quo and marking each clubs crates , if they want ta put 40 birds inta a crate which holds max 25 so be it , but don't interfere with other clubs birds , breaking seals is breaking SHU rules certainly have a crates cock & hens for topping up but thats it ?

no it's not the Glasgow fed one of the fanciers from Alnwick said about half past 10 that there were hundreds flying round low cloud and just didn't clear thats before the Glasgow fed libbed ?
-
What ever fed libed at Alnwick today they phave been flying in circling for hrs won't clear so lot of late comers today ,?

Davie as everyone in the north knows I was tossing birds from the Bergen Bank way back in the late 60ties and 70ties and that was taking them on board the boat ta the f X f sectors from Fraserburgh app 160 miles some times in pretty bad weather , and about 8 ta 9 am after getting a drink letting them go single up so ta use there heads , granted lost a good lot as I was just sorting the birds out as what ta breed off , as at that time the Ritchie & Whyte was the top fanciers in our club , at long distances such as Storm Queen ,and there was some top doo men at that time , but I was not the only one that sent birds ta tosses on board boats , as I am sure tossing any where north south east or west , makes birds , but the sad thing Davy , they call it the gold cup why in hell not just make it a worthy bloody race for the NAME only one place for such a race ,yes. it's , >>>> OSLO <<< and it would be good for the SNFC , as other organisations like UNC & midland national could make up a combine , get the likes of Masserella involved , with something like a Louis Masseralla memorial challenge cup the sport needs a challenge so ta attract new members ?
-
Yer right Davy first time ye will see the hours of darkness used , it's Na rocket science , if ever the shoe was on the other foot , as we have ta endure since racing began , 125 years ago, up north , fanciers just send there birds and accept what ever time birds are released at the extreme distances ,but as long as y see fanciers on these sites being praised for how how great performances there birds putting up in SNFC Nationals at very short distances such as Buckingham 220 miles & Portsmouth under 300 miles and letting the birds go at 6 am , then when they go over the channel the birds are held till 8 am & 9am doing away we the North birds having any chance of getting home on the day from 660 or even 700 miles , and they know the birds when sent right will do this distance on the day , but mention a race from less than 600 miles from OSLO , they have the chance ta brag about there birds but take a dose of the runs , just mentioning sending there birds ta fly 300 miles of water , get a bloody life swallows fly a thousand + miles twice every year , but they won't attempt the journey if they are not in correct condition , but there's abundance of fanciers fill there birds of antibiotics before sending ta a short race ta win a club card , that's the problem in our sport now false condition ?
