    Perigrine

Ian they weren't up nor down ,it was if it wanted to land on or near the loft , it seemed desperate , and this is the worst it's ever been here , yes you get a strike now and then , but to attack at loft that's a whole different ball game . Ps you have got to watch what you say on forums about deterrents , but if it comes near again then who knows what could happen .

    Perigrine

Paired up 8 pairs of stock pigeons let them out this morning as I'm off today, my neighbour who flies pouters shouted on me , looked about 15/20 ft above the loft and there was a cock perigrine looking down at my birds on the loft , I clapped my hands and shouted at it and it moved away but to my amazement it kept coming back in maybe 9/10 times at one time I thought it was going to land on my house roof , any way I got my birds back in and low and behold one missing a g,Dtr of invincible spirit ,prob the fatest stock hen I've got , now do u think she is hiding somewhere or was a pair if they fkrs hunting and the hen Percy has got my stock hen ? Said to my neighbour if this keeps happening then we will need to pack it in .
  12. Bang on big stuff I don't wear them either if I can help it .
  13. I agree with you del , we all know that the further east And northeast you are in your club fed national the more advantage you have , because of the prevailing west wind and possibly the drag up the east of the country .
  14. Well u know that will never happen mate , and your bang on it's always been the holy grail , some say they aren't bothered by long distance racing , but really they are living in denial , and by the way the wee section F. Covers some area with members from Newton Stewart/ Stranraer in the solway and Darvel in Ayrshire up to kirky down to Greenock and back down the west coast . prob the biggest in area in the whole of the national .

    Fly Aways

When it happened to me there was no sequence of events , I had room for 40 birds in a 10 ft by 6ft end , I had 18 youngsters all doing around an hour or so every night , I feed them once a day at night they got as much as they want as IMHO they are babies and growing so need nutrition . No cats near here my German shepherd see to that , the only difference was I let mines out for the first time in the morning as they normally don't get out till 6 pm each night . Now I never let mine out in the morning until they have been to a few tosses .
  16. Del what's your thoughts on making the gold cup great again ? , mines is prize money and or sponsorship , like a big first prize , and big first section prizes , because nowadays everything seems to be money orientated .
  17. Phone davie his number is on the first post , me and Alec Roberts are going , booked tickets at the snfc AGM .

    Fly Aways

I don't disagree with you there mate but it happened to me once ,I don't breed a lot of youngsters , in fav when it did happen i had 18 youngsters ,let them out at. 8am on a full blue sky and not a breath of wind , never seen a bird till 18.05 pm I ended up getting two reported near Stirling , and got 7 back on there own , never seen or heard of the other 9 all had phone numbers on legs , I put it down to bops chasing isn't them out of their area and they keep going trying to find their way back .

    Drug Tests

this ones at it and that ones at it , I've heard all this since I started pigeons in 1977 , but usually find it's the ones that don't win that say it about the winners. Ps not saying drugs are not getting used in pigeons , prob have been tried , but IMHO hard work and good pigeons ,oh and a good system usually gets the wins .
  25. I agree wullie ,I've had youngsters reported in Helensburgh. About 5 miles accross the water from me , I can see it from my bedroom window , but they won't come back accross if the go down the north side of the river from training well some don't anyway . Ps I was just pointing out where some end up in my last post .
