i delivered tatties house to house thursday friday nights , then when birds were getting basketed i stopped working the friday made about £3.50/£4.00 a night.rain hail or snow top flats the lot.

yes i did i was daft on birds and still daft.lol

I'VE BEEN MADE WELCOME IN LANARKSHIRE the last two weeks one at the fed presentation, the other on the quiz panel at the lanarkshire social circle night last night , i've lots of friends in lanarkshire and a lot of admiration for the top men , rankin,cullen, hannah, eddie &kelly ken buchannan to name but a few any one could win a national but they dont need help just a bit of luck, as these guys could win from any continental racepoint.

well its what you believe to be the truth . i suppose everone has an opinion. :)but i think its disrespectful to any other west flier who does'nt fly in lanarkshire. THIS THE TRUTH.

well i might break open a nice bottle my pal gave me(a couple) , singleton single malt whiskey 18yrs (worth £460) they dont make it any more only up to 15 yrs , i opened a bottle at the snrpc dance an gave some friends a half or two out of it and all loved it , the nicest malt ive ever had.(alf ask we vince about it)

WHY EAST ? well for starters its steady racing , the birds come home and if they sleepout they come home the next morning need i say more.

so the birds are doing an arc which is bad for the west boys but if you were flying from eastern france the west boys get there fair amount of overfly no matter what the wind/drag is. TRUE OR FALSE?

its always about its no fair ,the boys in the east get it easier than us in the west and no one will say im wrong , so either try harder or get better doo's mate.

some fantastic performances were put up by lanarkshire men last year but surely uphillhen , why cant you just give credit to the men who won with good pigeons rather than saying they won ONLY because the fed went down the west, that to me is just crap, the wind normally determines what side of the pennines (from the longer races)the birds come up and 9/10 its a west wind so they would normally come up the east of the pennines .no one will tell me that the birds from the reims race and the alencon race on the same day that the birds came up the west, dont you remember the wind that day , it was blowing very hard west.BIRDS WILL ALWAYS TRY AND GET SHELTER FROM THE WIND .

as soon as they can reach the top perch (usually about 4 weeks old)you can let them out although they can fly a bit they wont go far outside, i put mine out on the board at 4 weeks old and as soon as you open the trap their in like a bullet, and they are out every day after that unless it get very windy, this pigeon game is a learning process and learn by your mistakes. keep a diary and mark everything down and years down the line you can look back and see the things you did wrong and how far you have come on.

yes it's happened to me too, i remember years ago i picked out this cracking blood red hen ,1st toss i went with another club member although he never sent , he said watch those pylons , i said what there miles away, guess what they went staight towards them and you guessed it the red hen hit a wire and got cooked .

you will always find that.As soon as you have feds from different areas ie. edinburgh ,fife and dundee some will want this and some will want that. BUT what a great venture if it gets off the ground (with big big birdage and potentialy big pool money to be won)
