  9. thanx lads thats the first show ive entered in about 10 years . i think i was 1st and 5/6th not bad from 4 entered and very good judges in george and big gareth rankin they know good doo's when they see them ;)and stb it was young hens handling. ps second to me was none other than jim hannah fae blantyre .
  10. i know its big lanarks AGM today its been very quiet without them ,just wondering what tonight will bring ? your thoughts please
  11. well tammy this is the problem you get some that will see a good looking bird and say exactly the same ill keep that for the shows so they dont get raced much if any, then they breed a good lookin bird off it ,so then they get kept and so on so maybe 2/3/4 generations havent been raced or tried but they are still racing pigeons( that look good ) but how good for racing ? for me personely apples and trees spring to mind.jmo. ps great looking birds and in fantastic condition as well
  12. well mate after speaking to loads of fanciers all over the country you always hear of a bad toss or race and their good cock or hen is the only one still to come ,it happens all the time week after week ,the ones that dont get hit are usually very clever and just hide in a tree till the danger has passed .
  13. as far as im concerned it matters not the colour of the birds they take and its always the good ones .
  14. i agree 100% mate this is the rule that should be country wide not just this union or that union but all ,then there would be no arguing jmo.then i might get an ets myself
  15. i have used the g 10,s and am very happy with them and have put some top flyers onto them as well ,i feed around 20/25% pellets to 75/80 % seed to my young and they fly for nearly 2 hours every night no probs ,i have found if you feed the birds them as young they will eat pellets all there life ,but if you were to give say a 4/5 year old they will turn their nose up at them unless very hungry .ps since feeding my youngsters these pellets i have had no ailments at all with the young .TOP NOTCH
  16. i know you pay for transfers but distances are FREE as long as its through your club .
  17. HI WINGS ,ITS NOT CALLED A PROTIEN LUMP FOR ANY OTHER REASON the birds must be getting too much protien mate simple as that ,i used to get them long long ago but when i learned how to feed properly they stopped , if its not protien lumps your bird has it could be paratyphiod get it checked mate .ps if it is protien once sorted the bird will be A1
  18. well in our club we have had a few young members coming in ,this last few years , but as they come in sadly we lose some as well , the sport in scotland is split as we all know ,the first thing that would need to happen would be the snfc would have to change their rule about (having to be a member of the SHU) to be a member of any recognised union ,this would bring us all together in 2 possibly 3 years . jmo
  19. i will disagree with some of this jade as not all members have a vote , for instance partners ,only one vote /partnership im sure thats the way it works up here.
  20. i have to agree with an earlier post it depends what france team turns up ,but good luck to the irish anyway

I have always thought happy /fit and healthy pigeons will breed better young .jmo
  23. we all would like that robert but we all know its NEVER NEVER going to happen
  24. i think in the end it was only renfrew and ballochmile that was left in it ,in fact i think one of the last races there was only about 40/50 birds entered entered in the combine from france ,its a shame because it used to a good gamble
  25. would that be the two races that you didnt go to last year ,as stb has said theres no enough birds , if there was it would be a great idea ,but sadly there isny
