    Just In

i reported one of there birds the other day ,the guys had a bad toss lost quite a few, (the gb pigeon)
  7. dont know about that andy but i got my fancied pigeons ,just a yearling to come that i think a bit of , the other two last chance saloon ,i must say birds are in tremenous contition in fact they could go back to arras /clermont in a fortnight easily.
  8. walter im gutted for all the guys in the north yesterday a terrible day for racing pigeons up there ,in fact its been a terrible year ,i for one cant wait till its over ,lots of good pigeons lost badly injured etc ,and for the last 4/5 weeks every race has seen downpours enroute ,birds returning like drowned rats , its a fkn shame for them ,u can only go with these forecasters they are supposed to know what the weather is going to do ,they said that the weather was to clear north from central belt mid afternoon 100%correct, and keep moving but it obviously didnt ,dont know what its like with u now buts its been dreich here all morn ,timed my nom at 06.14 thats my 2 fancied birds home .anyways i hope to hear of more birds in north as the day goes on .
  9. great performance from that north sect bird without doubt ,.the weather was shocking up there all day yes ,but i live west and one if not the longest flyer apart from sect G , we get this or had this since i started pigeons in 1977 , the weather usually come in from the west and we always get it bad and in some cases in nationals we get shut out completely in my opinion and im a race controller i would have libbed as well ,the next poss good day for a lib with the weather good for the whole of britain the channel (and belgium) is prob in AUGUST sometime . i do hope these pigeons get a dry day and get up and home .u should try a race at national level there is no feeling like it (the antisapation/ excitement even if u dont time in) but when u do WOW .
  10. thanx lads
  11. is muirhouse and newhouse the same place big man ?
  12. ccan anyone tell me when the clocks are getting checked at newhouse ?
  13. just timed at 1937 better late than never , 2 yr old grizzle hen well pooled
  14. i see bossi is in at 15.43
  15. dumfries at 15.28
  16. yes if a bird drops 2 flights at once its a good sign but i would rather it was the first and second than the 4th and 5th, in pigeon racing there is ALWAYS the exception , yes pigeons have won on there 4th or 5th flight but how many havent scored got lost turned up weeks later or never turned up ? .
  17. ive said this many years ago ,i would love to have a chip ring on the birds legs which could send a signal out say every 4 hrs and you could check on your computer where your bird is in race ,it gets activated at lib and could last for 48 hrs (battery life), if your bird was still in france after 4 hrs then you could forget about it winning , surely the technoligy is out there for this to happen ,just like the ets even inside the ets ring ? any thoughts ? maybe off topic so maybe get moved to e new board ?

sorry to hear of this malcolm ,me personaly i sent to ypres/snfc the first time since the split ,i saw many members there that fly in both ( even the ex senior vice president)i was made welcome and never heard any snide comments (i even spoke to big gareth about his late dad) i wish i was there when andrew sent i would have sorted they daft fkrs out with a few words of wisdom . as someone else has posted about a bad apple .dont let these idiots win .
  22. i agree with dels 1 but 2 ? naw no further than the 3rd (to get the best out of them )maybe push it to the 4th , 3 as stb says all depends on how the training went ,but normally last toss would be sunday for thursday basket or saturday for wednesday basket.
  23. hotrod

    Ypres ?

yes mate the detailled forecast i have is for decent weather for sunday ,the only prob for saturday is heavy rain in n/east england and into scotland.but its clearing north .
  24. hotrod

    Ypres ?

when will we get a race to me looks like sunday ? with variable northely winds . been training 10 but will pick out the best conditioned and the others will go to arras in a fortnight.
  25. food for thought paul very good thinking ,might have a go at it myself ,anyways have got two y/bs away one got picked up ,i took one other accross the erskine bridge and to about 1.5 miles from home and let it go( the tosr never even phoned to say it was home or thanx) im taking the lanarkshire one with me tonight to the marking at newhouse ,the other i reported it to the fed secy(he told me its a greenock bird but ive not got my book handy) and not a call from the owner ,my wife is going to greenock today and will lib it ,pigeon men eh! makes me sick ,fk if i get one reported i either send for it or go and get it asap ,even the one got reported in germany cost me £125 to get it back , i got 2 y/bs off it and they are fkn crackers .
