Been following the Rota virus problem for the past three month or so on an Auz. website,looks like they have a serious problem,whole lofts getting more or less cleaned out.Feel sorry for the lads and lasses down under,must be devastating. Don't think anyone has come up with a cure and pumping anti's into the birds won't help,might even make things worse. Are you a member of Lets Talk Pigeons Ozzytone ? Lindsay C.

Check for the usual things canker etc.,if you have room and a spare hen give him a chance.

Not too sure on that one mate,my lofts are at the back door,being retired I have plenty time to spend with the young birds,every time I go in the loft I pick the scraper up,no damp patches on the floor or perches drinkers spotless etc.YBS every season and never cleared it in three or four days as some say is posible ? I'm going down the other road this season,loft granules,thick taken off as and when required,perches cleaned twice a day ? See what happens

Yes mate,doesn't have to be ex miners in the club,sorry to say long gone in my area,most of my family were miners.I suppose as long as there was mining in the area,I was pointed in the right direction who was a county councilor,our contact was the local library.Try your Parish Council,they are allocated a sum of money and if they don't use all of it they get less the next financial year.Tell them why you need a grant,we use our money for repairs and renewing club items,ie. baskets etc.

Coal board regeneration,Sellafield and local parish council,have had grants off all three,applied for a lottery grant some years ago and was refused.

Sad news this morning,a club member and friend has passed away,Colin has flew pigeons for as long as I can remember,flew in partnership with our club secretary Andrew Berwick,good crack all the time mate,you'll be sadly missed,always brought a bag of sweets on Friday nights,condolences to his family and friends,thinking of you Andrew chin up pal.R.I.P.
