Great season Gareth ...well deserved

Its a hard task for any team of doos to be in the top45 ( first 1%) every week for say 18 weeks mate... think we've only did it on two occasions... ur right just timing from the first race to the last is hard enough its self.. ur always gonna get that race where ur left scratching yer head... bedHampton that year for us...

In my opinion the Fed now is as strong as its ever been... I.e quality of top fanciers not quantity... to be on the fed result every week is the hardest thing to do... from 85-450 miles.."Fed races" . Everyone can have that disaster in any race... alot of hurdles along the way for the doos now..

Its gettn harder and harder every year to take the top spot... alot more variables now..I think especially with a few top class fanciers in every sec now.. everyone would get a turn at it... but cheers for the compliment

Yip les mitchell was tellin me about it... And thats pentland..... not even the size of one of our Sections mate There needs to be enough folk to get behind it...I dont see why anyone would appose it...u dont have to enter it

But a Fed the size of Lanarkshire.....needs to be the first to lead the way in my opinion... Uv got say 18/19 races a year ...a fancier even at the top of their game can only win up to half of them... so the whole thing of havin someone dominate the pool money ..isnt really a factor... im talking as a whole ..not just as me the fancier... Really look at it...wether its a young guy or old timer gettin a lift..it pays his feed..treat the kids.. buy a doo or do what he wants... its another incentive thats my whole point... Its a known fact that when prize money is involved in any sport people up their games A guy tops his Section or finishes 1, 2,or 3 with a Nom... for a 9quid bet its a decent lift.

My point davie was why stop people gettin something uv already got and dosnt effect you..thats all mate

Lanarkshire Fed .... maybe the biggest Fed in Britain... one of the biggest in Europe Has very little or no prize money available.....? Its down to the members to create the funds through pools.. Iv never met a pigeon fancier yet that doesn't like a punt on his birds... the way it is structured in Georges post is - Fair for every Section - a money spinner for the Fed - option to pool ur pigeons any week u want - creates prize money for the big races - gives fanciers another insensitive I.e if ur not topping the Fed or Sec getting ur Nom

Take a look at the figures....its working on only half them members entering it.. We have a lack of sponsorship for big races I.e yearling Open..maidstone...ypres.. The money left over from the pools each week would make prize money available in these races.. Surely that looks inviting to anyone.... sprinter...middle. .. distance.. I honest cant see a negative here..

Im not talkn about what yous already have..... The original post...or something like it....section pools and fed pools thatbare won each week... You dont have to enter every week... wait till ur preferred distance or when u think u have the birds in form... Its very simple.... club pools are already dying away have been for years.. this would be a step foward for the Fed and its members... Single bird ...or 4 bird nom... Per section and open is a fair bet...

We tried that two years ago at the agm.... west members voted against the other sec getting it... I was sittn nxt to Jim Hannah.. nothing against Jim get on well with him.....he voted against it when his sec already had it... I was scratching my head. Im talkn about on a larger scale... each section then have something to fly for.... regardless of if I send 40 u send 20... its 4 noms vs 4 noms I think I speak for a larger number who would agree ..if ur not winning the race..the next best thing is gettn a lift...

We need to be lookn at the big picture her walter....not just what this section has or this club has.. Why are guys now sending more and more too one loft races.. to test ur birds and big prize money.. simple as that.. ov now seen non fanciers doin it... The sport needs a shake up or it will die with the older generation that ir mentioning.. Years gone by I remember the stories of coatbridge premier where guys culd win more than theyr weeks wage... with a pooler.. Clubs are dyin away ... its the only logical way foward.. harder to get sponsorship for prize money for big races.. this would create that. We must remember this is Lanarkshire Fed... not National.. so keep money for that has nothing to do with Lanarkshire. Thats not a dig mate... but we've got to look at bringin the sport alive again...

Exactly what is needed George. .. and its a fair bet across the board.. 4 vs 4 birds... Young guy can get a pooler pay his feed for a month or two.. For 9 quid... more spent on beer.. coupons... if yer doos that are kept 365 days a year aint worth a 9 qiid bet.... ??? S You want to attract young guys to the sport this is the way. We now especially in this generation live in a gambling frenzy... look at what its done for darts Snooker...etc. Btw its got everything for distance guys as well... big pools built up with the money left over each week... for longest inland and ypres.. Fed could also be making money out it.... Win win for all in my opinion

Thats always been our goal every week tam... but what yer not wanting to happen is more sections.. be like Belgium where 1-10 get a bloody prize lol... I dont see why we cant have open races every week.. with noms.. etc.. spice it up abit.. up to members if they enter or not.. Sports gotta move with the times.

Lol.... we dont need to brag danny.our birds speak for themselves. ...what I do like is info on how all my birds are performing... what I originally stated was of theyre gonna jump sections. Or whatever... just have a top 40.. Bottomline being if the sections do get changed... that would mean that in 28years in this fed we would have flown in 3 different sections..and basically never moved house...lol East Centre Northeast..

Well u should name who u are talking about danny. Iv never said scrap sections... but an open result on top of what we have would be ideal... sorts everything out... if it can be done for 5/6 open races a year it can be done for them all

Thats a fair point...walter.... everyone's in titled to their opinion... my point and my opinion is that it is possible to top the fed from any section in a straight race with no interference... good fit healthy and well motivated doos will always be there or there abouts Last 3 Fed champions... G.rankin. - west Gwp mac - centre A.eadie - east Runner up this year Tam rich - east. Of course their will be days that the wind suits a certain section...that levels itself out over the season.. but to say one sec would take the 50 positions.. no chance.. I dont see the harm in what tam was sayin a seperate open result .. keeps everyone happy..

I dunno whos moved where or when and in what section. .im not particularly bothered by that.. but iv been sayin for a few years that it would be good to have a open result each week on top of what we already have.... more info we have can only help us all.. As for location. ..yes iv said it myself strong east wind today boys in the west will be hard to beat...and the other way about... But if u have lofts and clubs N..S.E and west of you... there is no advantage. .. National racing walter is correct.... 9/10 ur aiming to win ur section

Take it that's directed to us.... if yer doo finishes 46th from 7000b .. finishing in the top % of the total convey u would discard it.??... they are the doos that win u averages.... its not all about the first position birds... thats how u maintain great stock... lots of info .. U seem to have a right problem way us selling doos..danny.. or is it just jealousy..

Exactly....but that's the way its been... was just thinkn they way to combat that happing is to have seperate open result

Wit about when yer just outside the sec and not on the result.... but ur velocity is ahead of 12 in another sec on the fed result.... its no a question of being a brain surgeon..its the fact that the 40 doos on the result aint the first 40 doos.... thats simple

Well that would be down to the individual fancier if he wants to pool in the open mate.. For me regardless of route.. wind.. location.. yer doos still need to be at the front to win The Sec or the Fed... iv said it myself " we're nowhere today" and end up 10th sec.... but in the big picture not at the races
