I will gladly breed your lad a few young birds, to race next year, if that’s any help?
-
Is this the same person who has a loft manager and the lofts are at his managers property?
-
That says it all then mate. I have most to Arthur and 10 to my mate in Liverpool as the earlier birds I sent to him was doing really well for him so, he took ten and has been training them up for next year, atleast they wasn’t wasted mate ;-)
-
That not entirely true Matthew. I offered you some yearlings that I had raced well in Liverpool and didn’t want to risk trying to break out. Also a couple of my 1st round YB off my stock, I also offered to deliver them to you but, you messed me about in messages and then asked could I deliver them after the birds was too strong on the wing. I then offered to put my stock back together just to breed the full round for you free of charge, you waited for the eggs to hatch them came and asked was my birds going to win 500 mile races for you? As that’s all your interested in, I explained my birds are for sprint and your words was, I will leave them then and take my rings back and will buy 6 hardy Kruger’s off my neighbors race team to put to stock as they are 500 mile birds. You didn’t kindly turn them down, you messed me about and then refused the birds as you said they wasn’t good enough, I don’t agree with people lying mate and especially about myself. I honestly wish somebody was willing to help me out as much when I first started.

Where was your race from and far to you Matthew? Surely they shouldn’t be seen to be flying for too long, if your birds are for 500 miles?
-
Each to their own, if they’re more interested in making money from supply and demand that’s is up to them to buy full rounds knowing the majority of them will come to nothing, it just makes that person feel better mentally and the seller gets rid of a full round in one go. I personally would rather find genuine people who will tell you their best pairs knowing you might only buy a few of his best birds. Majority of the people who buy full rounds then advertise the crap ones as proven breeders, others breed more crap from them and the chain goes on. I seem to of been doing good doing it my way so, will stick to that way.

I can only comment on birds I have personally seen from charity sales. I haven’t raced pigeons for long, have 16 pair of stock birds that have bred me winners from my very first race in Liverpool til present in Scotland so I either have done my homework or just been very very lucky. Asking people their honest opinion on what pair breeds the best performance birds is doing your homework but, being told to buy a full round from them is not a honest reply, especially if the novices haven’t been fortunate enough to speak to genuine honest fliers.

People can say anything and make rubbish sound good, they’re just good sales men. You hear it regularly, ask what they think their best breeding pairs are so you can look at buying them and first thing said back, oh your best buying a full round off my stock birds, anything for you to part with your money. I gladly give full rounds from my stock away as it’s not all about taking peoples money. Some of the birds that are provided to the charity sales are pathetic, they must just send what ever looks worse in the loft at the time as the money isn’t in their own pocket.

Thanks, the birds done their job, can’t ask more than that.

Everyone with common sense has changed the basketing, wouldn’t hold your breath for a change with our feds race, that wagon is used as a personal training programme ;-)
-
Would be interesting to see the returns for the whole race.

Check if any neighbours have cctv and ask can you look at it or, a shop in each direction from the place it was taken, as it will guaranteed have to pass a shop and can’t be hard to spot it being towed.

Thank you ;-)

Hello Walter, I fed on a Friday if the race was looking a bit difficult on the birds and in the later part of the season, whilst flying in Liverpool. Now I know I’m not doing wrong by my birds, I will stick to what I do mate.
-
I will get both books, to cover everything, thank you. I fly in mastrick and silver city. Thanks mate, would be really appreciated. Will the rules still be the same as now, with it being 2014?
-
Thank you for all the replies, now I know I haven’t done no wrong, I will continue to do what I am doing. I will also get hold of all the rules so I know exactly what is what then I won’t have to battle with my mind, thinking I’ve done something wrong to my birds. Roll on the weekend ;-)
-
If there is no rules stating I have to feed them basket day I won’t. I wouldn’t mind I know for a FACT he feeds his birds less than I feed mine each day. I would rather leave that club than lose my temper and not be able to race again.
-
I will only change anything, if I’m doing it wrong mate, if there is no rules saying I have to feed them basket day I won’t ;-) what I will do, is just not send in that club anymore. You have seen and handled my birds and I’m sure if they was mistreated you would of said.

Thank you for your reply, It’s a bit difficult to explain how I’m feeling like a cheat but, the way it was said and when and why it was said, contributes to how I feel. It wasn’t mentioned on basketing or before the clocks was done, it was said in a horrible tone straight after congratulating me on winning, if I didn’t win nothing would of been said, his brother usually wins almost every card each race but I took the 1st 6 places my 1st race, I suffer from my mental health in a major way and my birds keep me going each day, I can’t even go into a shop, I’m uncomfortable around people and these people are fully aware of that. So to be told, that’s what happens when you starve your birds is going to make me think I’m either cheated or neglecting my birds, even if others don’t think it, I feel it due to those comments, that is why I would like to know if there is any rules that I may be breaking by not feeding them basket day? If there isn’t then my mind will be at ease. Sorry for going on but, hopefully that will explain it more. I understand the importance of the changes in feed over the distance mate but, thank you for pointing it out. I would also welcome anyone to look over my birds to see if I am mistreating them in any way shape or form.
-
Thank you for your reply Andy, I didn’t feed my birds the day of basketing, I sent in two clubs. 1 club had no problem with my birds, then 2nd club a member commented on my birds after the clocks had been done. He wasn’t flying in the race but said my birds are starved. I managed to win both clubs and had 64 of my birds home and trapped in under 10 mins, surely starved birds couldn’t manage that? I don’t want to be made to feel as a cheat if my birds should be fed on basket day? I’ve only been racing pigeons since YB 2016 in England then YB this year up here so, I really haven’t a clue on whether I must feed on basket day or not?
-
Could someone please inform me of any rules there is, regarding the amount of feed your bird must have before basketing for a race in Scotland. This is my first year racing up here and don’t want to be putting my birds to the races if the amount of feed I’m giving them is incorrect.

I will be heading to Liverpool from Aberdeen, tomorrow afternoon and can take any birds on the way, if needed.

Lot 8, £250 please. Thanks Ian
