Think you are on the right track peter but in my opinion we lose more youngbirds at 50 miles than we do at 90/100 miles,I myself started at 115 miles this year and got them all home in good time, Education starts at home NOT on a transporter where race controllers and convoyers is to blame.

Picked up this bird from non fancier it has a few injuries been in a battle with a bird of prey but he is doing well now he has a small pucture wound in his back and lost all his tail feathers and he is limping a bit but is eating now and drinking
