there are lads on pigeon chat who are winning with them , there was a sale recently of 8 gust janssen late breds for £100 each . birds looked very well, as far as I know they went quick .

first year racing , birds trained well but suffered with losses when racing . got a win , a few positions and clocked 1 from the channel so suppose have to be happy . made a lot of mistakes ,a lot to take in , but hopefully I can do a bit better next year , looking forward to it already.

a friend of mine has had this bird come in , he is not on basics and asked me to post the ring number . he would like to get it back to its owner , any help would be great. thanks , anto

when the moult starts besides a good moulting mix what other seed , supplements etc is it best to give to help the birds through this period ?

irish south road fed , penzanze open 220 miles and youghal co cork 120 miles . not many youngbirds and ive stopped a few so 3 across the water and 3 to the inland race , looking forward to saturday

it was a tough day in Dublin for a lot of fanciers , I got 6 back from 7 have to be happy with that . I think the unsettled weather definitely was a factor , when there is thunder and lightning in the lead up to a race in future maybe the right thing to do is give it a miss , ive only a small team , one bad bang and it would be season over. a lot of losses reported.

First 30 mile toss this morning with trainer , had 8 from 15 mile and 5 from 5 mile . Hopefully all there when i get home from work . Dropped 4 from 27 so far .

If your hearts not in it and you dont enjoy it , maybe you should take your own advice

my first year racing starting with youngbirds , first race is roughly 80 miles . how far do fanciers go training building up to this and how many times would you have them at this distance ? thanks , anthony
