Why Are People So Negative Towards Pigeons?
anto b replied to Stu3y's topic in Introductions & Member Messages
had a good experience this evening when training , a family came over and seemed to be shell shocked when I told them that the birds would get home before me . they thought the birds where great and the kids got photos with them then I let them release the birds from the crates . if everyone does there bit it can only help change the perception that some people have about these fantastic birds that we all love to race . -

Looks like ireland will be getting these massive pylons across the country , not only are they an eye sore , will they affect a pigeons homing ability ? They give off a magnetic field such is the power going through them is whats being said by the anti - campaign . Any thoughts?

Our programme has changed this year the races i can go for are mallow 130 m, skibbereen 174 & barleycove 194 m after that its over the water which i wouldnt send a late bred to. First old bird season so its all new to me , hopefully i can get them ri ght healthwise and well trained and give them a good go at it. Thanks again , Anto

hello andy , thanks for the reply , i also have 4 pairs that where raced and done ok in the club that i will breed from plus im bringing in 18 youngsters so i dont need to make up numbers . the late breds where gifted by 2 good fanciers in my fed and are well bred , they got about a dozen tosses in all directions up to 10 miles or so . the first race for them will be mallow ,co. cork 130 miles all going well . going to give roundabout a try . any advice would be great cheers, anto

hello all , I have 12 late breds that I am planning to race in the 2nd half of the OB programme , they all got lightly trained . should I take young from them and race them or would it be best to just race and no breeding ? cheers , anto
