  7. im not really into shows craig but my self and my pal jim mcguire will bring a couple over for an interest and to meet some of the guys again ive been telling jim its a good wee night and it will be his first time showing birds see you wed m8
  8. i suppose its like everything else alan a bit of luck involved to m8 you could have a great breeding pair in the loft but never have them paired together must say the best thing i ever did was build the five single pair section loft which alowed me to run my cocks with 4or5 even six different hens in a season which found out the pairs that clicked and were breeding firsts in 2 to 3 years if id stuck to breeding them as i used to 4 to six yb per season off each pair i might have still been looking for my best breeders and what lines click together its a great way to fined out your best breeders in a short time a type of bull system will save you years in breeding time if you have good bloodlines or are trying to fined the good bloodlines its the way to go about it imo
  9. tiger i said stock birds m8 you seem to be compairing my stock birds with guys that have been winning at national level for years against birds that produce winners in all compition all the guys you mention are great flyers at national level but do there stock birds produce lots of winners in a short space of time a stock bird to me is a cock or hen that produces first prize winners every year think your trying to split hairs m8 is a loft that produces 2 national winners in 50 years better than a loft that produces 70 firsts at all levels or a loft that scores in two or three nationals every year is all a matter of opionion i dont keep pigeons for five races a year mines have to perform every race and its my opionion that i have some of the best stock birds in scotland to do that why you feel the need to compair someones opionion of there own birds i dont understand and as for selling birds the post was about good or rubbish birds being sold what i was pointing out was no matter how good your stock birds are you cannot garntee the birds bred from them will be winners and i still think i have some of the best stock birds in scotland lol as for getting me upset pigeons are a hobby to me takes a lot than that to get me upset john atb m8 might see you at one of the shows and we will have a beer
  10. morning guys
  11. well done davie and all the prize winners
  12. sorry davie wrong place lol
  13. i have 17 pair of stock birds wiley but 90 percent of my yb are bred off 5 pair the rest of the stock birds are inbred and line bred sons and daughters from the the five pair but all 17 pair have bred winners for me and the younger ones will go into the single pair sections in time when there pairents stop producing winners or breeders of winners or become infertile
  14. thanks jimmy your right again m8
  15. the statement was i think i have some of the best breeding stock birds in scotland tiger others will think they have to m8 which they are entitled to think but i would say there are not many in scotland breeding constant winners over the past five or more years from 60 to over 500 miles i could not ask for any better than i have as i try to win from every distance and every race point i go to and the stockbirds i have have been breeding birds to win at every distance so why should i not think that they have bred in four seasons 30 birds to score in the snfc and over 20 first prize winners maybe even more if i look them out but like i said a pedigree is only as true as the man that writes it ps forgot to say and all bred from or down from 5 pair
  16. always do pete as long as its not to heavy and the vis is good m8 i place more importance on visibility as its only a 20 to 35 minute toss light rain is not a problem ps but im a bit more carefull the first two or three tosses when just getting them started but once they get tossed from the same place 3or4 times they get the idea
  17. no it was a fancy breed pigeon show stevie m8
  18. aye she did talked her grandad into buying her a 3d picture of a unicorn lol
  19. morning guys
  20. that brilliant charlie tell davie well done pal
  21. yes if the van will not start because its frozen lol no within reason soupie but birds do not stop flying because its cold m8 ill only not train if there is snow on the ground strong wind or bad vis and latebreds are well feathered ive watched my birds on open bowl in bitter cold winter and they go out and fly for an hour because they want to i also think birds in the air can almost see there loft from 12 miles and we dont give our birds the credit for what they are capable of as i keep saying at the end of the day there homing pigeons im not saying we should hammer them but we are not doing them any good by being to soft on them only training pigeons in fine weather is a mistake its britain we live in if we wait on fine weather all the time we would only get two or three races a year if my latebreds cant fly from 12 or 20 miles in a bit of rain or cold there no good to me as thats how most of there races will be all there life
  22. weans come first cem thats why its best being a grandad you can take them back lol
  23. how did you finnish up in the show davie
  24. lol good one jimmy remember buying a brown and white mouse off a boy at school when i got home id no where to keep it so i put it in a drawer in the kitchen and went outback to make a box my mother came home from work and opened the drawer to get something and the wee guy made a dash for freedom but my old dear shut the drawer with scream jaming its head that was the end of my halfcrown mouse lol
