Cracking per of birds there m8 are they a breeding pair ? -
It's a she m8 a cross between a paterdale and a jack Russell There defo are John the only real way you will stop a cat from hassling our birds
-
Agree 100% we all need to act or we are all finished.
-
Bang on dell but the problem is there's not enough people dealing with there own area if only every1 would try even the smallest amount it would help
-
It's the same everywhere these days , up in south lanarkshire where I stay the birds are getting chased everyday there out , and a know it's cruelty watching them get hit every day but instead of giving up hope we should be fighting these *expletive removed* anyway we can or before long none of use will be able to enjoy the sport we love IMO .

Best of luck Walter

A had a bird do the same a couple of years ago m8 , a lost him at the third young race and he appeared nearly a year later let him rest up for a few weeks then Sent him to a come bck race from otterburn which was his only race as a yearling a timed him in then this year a scored out of ypres with him , IMO is that bird won't be as easy lost this year, if he can come home after being out 9 months he can come home from anywhere , good luck with him this year m8

This is the closest I can find to explain what is band from pigeon racing The following classes of substances will be considered prohibited in racing pigeon competition: I. Drugs which mask pain and injury: These drugs have pain killing characteristics. A. Narcotic Analgesics: Powerful pain killers such as Opiates, Morphine, etc. B. Anti-inflammatories, both Non-steroid, and Corticosteroids: Procaine is one example. Corticosteroids which are common in eye drops, delay a pigeon’s molting, enabling it to train harder and race later in the season. They also have anti-inflammatory effects. II. Drugs that unfairly improve performance: These drugs enhance the athletic ability of the bird by enhancing physical characteristics, and increase the heart rate and respiratory rate. A. Beta-agonists and other Bronchodilators: Both open birds’ respiratory tract and improve breathing by adding oxygen to the blood. B. Anabolic steroids: Anabolic steroids build up a pigeon's muscles, boosting performance. (Boldenone, is one of many) III. Drugs which stimulate the nervous system, by increasing heart rate and pressure: A. Amphetamines, or closely related substances of any kind. IV. Drug Masking Compounds: A. Masking Agents: which are used purposely to interfere with detection of prohibited drugs in the pigeon. Also have a look at this section 1 it might help http://www.vpu.org.za/documents/Doping%20manual.pdf

Yes it's a fact doping is used in pigeon racing and it has been documented that doping has and does go on in the sport of racing pigeons
-
Everyone's entitled to there own opinion and mine is there is very little to nothing being done to prevent doping in the sport , yes there will be a cost to testing and yes it could get messy but fact is it's happens , and yes there is genuine fanciers out there winning every week cause they put the effort in like a said before but there is also fanciers out there winning with a little help, and at the end of the day if fanciers have nothing to hide they won't mind having there bird tested IMO
-
So what your saying is just sit back and let the pigeon game become corrupt to the core and let the people that's drugging there pigeons get away with it and take positions and pool money from hArd working fanciers , there is the cost factor and who would do the tests and where , but am not saying every fed and club winner should be tested as a said earlier it's was more the national set up where pigeons are really put to the test and are flying 12 to 14 hours on the wing there selfs and not with any help for whAt ever whether it was proformace inhancing drugs or pain killing drugs , bottom line it's happening all over the uk and something needs done about it .
-
A would agree with u on what your saying on a more selective testing as yes some birds would escape the testing procedure with a random testing method , and yes we do need to think about the stress we would be causing the birds ,IMO is that something needs to be done either selective or random to stamp out drugs or whatever substances are being missed used , and I agree 100% it would be a greater deterant if it was a definite that your bird will be getting tested if you win or are in the top 10 or something along them lines . The bigger picture is actually getting Feds and national organization to start doing these test just like the ihu .
-
Why not random testing at marking station ? If we do this it will make people think twice cause they know there's a possibility The birds will be tested before they leave the marking station .
-
Am not saying they don't do it but it's on a hole a think organisation like the snfc should be doing more to prevent it and stop the pigeon game become more corrupt than it already is .
-
Random test would work cause if you knew there was a chance of your birds getten tested before they go to the race this would mibi make people think twice about doing it in the first place .

We'll done Wull and thats a cracking pair of birds . -
Yip bang on especially nationals where the birds have to fly 12 hours or more and everyone knows it take a good doo and a lot af effort from use to get the bird fit to come home from these distances only to be beating by birds that's possible had a helping hand , am not saying all birds will of had a helping hand but we do need to try stop the people that are doing it .
-
Aye your right Walter they should name and shame and they should defo be banned for life , I personal think all federation should be doing random drug tests cause it's a fact where there's money to be made Or won you will get people trying to cheat the system , it's only just last year at the bicc that pigeons tested had traces of pain killers found in them so it's not just performance inhancing there using its painkillers to .
-
Your probably right there's a good chance it's happen all over the uk but the ihu are the only organisation in the uk that prepared to test the birds being entered into races . I personally cant see the point init as you are only kidding yourself on by drugging the birds as it's hard work and good pigeons that win u races not drugs.
