I dont race but my farther in law used to me why my bifd wasnt performing and you know what he dont and the problems l have since l started up he told me the answer straight away being young and foolish l jgnored him and sort m hut own answers im sure if his disabled daughter wasnt born he would be up there with the best but 4hats life

You havent got space for stock birds when you pair up you will have to keep a few pairs in one compartment , youngbirds in the other and split the sexes in the winter

Put a paticion in the middle of the double doorvone door for each section two mesh doors inside with landing drop down landing boards job sorted, plus you can open the doors in nicevweather and leave the mesh ones shut

I wish somebody introduced me to barley sooner , its a fanatstic grain for two reasons the birds dont like it, it gets them flying , to a novice like me l really struggled getting the feed right so now l use it in conjunction with another mix ,pigeons are like kids dont know they will eat the nicer grains and leave the others if overfeed, l give them just enough and top the rest up with barley noticed a big difference as soon as l used it, now l can judge ifthey have had enough by whatching for them to leeve barley, go to the drinker, throw grain out of the feeder looking for nicer grains .the best thing is my pigeons always get enough feed for the work they are doing.

I read this article a while back interesting read didnt used to fead barley l wouldnt be without it now .

hi l dont show or race but l have been told they can't evaluate the birds eye due to been a bullseye, which i have heard is why they discard them ,l two like whites ones more experienced guys on here may be able to help you .

l know what you mean mate there was abit in bhw last weak about kinsley progressive club with the awards but i havent seen anything else,to say round here there are still a fair few fanciers bansley and hemsworth ,south elmsall way on you don't hear much .I work for wakefield council and it surprises me sometimes where people have lofts and allot of folk in the houses have allott of tales to tell about pigeons .

i agree somewhat with owen but you can get your birds in a routine that they get a treat when entering the loft so you don't have to let them out two hungry, and leave them out the same amount of time every time so as they are not just sat about waiting for a treat ,then after so long when when they are trapping how you like when you like wean them of it slowly till they a trapping purely by rountine. I know what you mean pal everywhere l go r lass is telling me off for going on about pigeons especially if I see a stray in town center and try grab it when its getting fed by someone l don't know lol

I use a pencil on my homemade boxes so l know what bred what if l was racing l would put my results on there l can swap my doors about in a second when they choose there next box .
