i understand your view and totally respect it Mick, but mine is slightly diffrent .we do value our young birds , many of us breed too many (cannon fodder as you say) because of the circumstances they have to fly under in this day and age. with many small organisations flying ,clashing,and the ever present B.O.P. Losses are part and parcel , the E.T.S. ring manufacturers are getting in the neck because if the cost of rings were cheaper (and many believe they could/should be) it would make the blow less of an impact financially and emotionaly.

was very frosty all morning TOOSHY , a little better later at 1.5 degrees , but tempreature dropping now as the sun goes down .

we have been to visit Duncan & Carol today at there busy shop . Babybird has collected some more "white doo,s" , and we will visit again soon for a few more . .

been out most the day (up tae Fife) ,visit Dovescot , 4 sacks of corn ,mobile lunch , home to feed & water all. and put up 20 temporary perches ready to move hens in spare section .

keep posting the "wisdom" , we "the next generation" are enjoying your knowledgable posts.
