You only know the percentage if you know how many each fancier has sent

The fashion this year appears to be to inform everyone of the number of birds you clock in. This number seems to get higher as the race progresses. If someone clocks 3 then someone else clocks 4. Surely the information is for the 1st. bird clocked per fancier to give everyone a picture of how a race is unfolding.
