it is always sad when a club calls it a day for what ever reason we are in a sport that is in decline and here we have a club forced to disband what ever the reasons i would think the people who have forced this issue will be proud of them selves as this sport of ours is suposed to be for relaxation to get away for the day today hassles at work ect i can only hope that may be common sense is seen and this sad matter can be resolved to all s satisfaction cheers Alan

i would like to thank gangster for collecting my birds from Belgium keeping and looking after them for a few days and on Monday bringing them upto Edinburgh to meet me also to young Micky who is a top wee guy who came up with dad the birds where in superp shape and i can only thank him for his help there are not many guys in our sport today that would go out of there way as gangster did for me you are a top guy and if i can ever do any thing to help you i will thanks once again cheers Alan

well all as i can say i would never give a bird or donate to a sale any bird that i would not keep myself or i thought was no good and neither would most fanciers but the problem is you get the birds not the fancier and there are plenty good guys out there who are only too willing to help new starters these in my opinion out weigh the bad

some of the best birds i ever owned where gifted to me from friends of my father one of the reasons i got their best was because i never raced against them as i was racing in an other area i was also taken to their lofts and offered to pick what i wanted them off and advice on how to fly them this was 30 years ago plenty good birds given away free

you have got a good point but if we wait for them to act it will take for ever now is the time lets get off our backsides raise the funds and start the ball rolling put into practice and get it right

there has been some great posts and ideas put on the site and actions that are in the process of getting under way we are in a sport that is also in decline for one reason or another if we where to look at the average age of fanciers i bet 50plus is av all clubs feds have some good people who could go round schools and talk to the kids not only on the hawk problems but also high light the enjoyment of keeping -racing pigeons but to get all united together under one banner needs all the petty grudges to be beried and all our energys put into getting a result i am just a working guy but money can be raised no problem lets see if we can get this going before its too late every one has a part to play our time is our own we can all give up a few hours to save our sport never was a truer word spoken united we stand divided we will fall and if we do fail there will be no one to blame but our selves

this would be a great idea if we could get a couple of good videos made showing from the birds pairing to flying to racing and another showing the hawk attacks ie sparrow hawk eating the bird alive also percy what damaged done when he attacks also them taking the song birds ect this might seem like a horror film but its the only way to get it across

i would donate money and time no problem and i am sure plenty others would do the same if this was to be started

the problem is we need to be represented with people who can put a good points forward and if that means paying for it then so be to expect people to do this part time is not the answer just look at the way members have critisize our elected officials of clubs feds ect lets all work together to fght the enemy not each other its the only way forward united we can stand dived we are easily picked off

this is not a case for any one union to take on we need to be united in our efforts to put a sensable point of view if we do not unite and start to solve the hawk problem in 10-20 years time pigeon racing will be a thing of the past raising money has never been a problem when a good cause needs funds we need to find the right people to fight our corner and back them to the hilt the time for talking about the problem has finished we need to act before its too late

i have used Amtrak on a number of times and never had any problems with the birds arriving in good nick only once did i have a problem was when i phoned their depot in Aberdeen to find out if my birds had came and was told no then only to have them delivered a couple of hours later

i have no objection to donate birds for sale after all the fund is there to help the guys who are selling birds on the site know thereselfes that they should make a donation if they do not want to then i think they shouldn take a good long look in the mirrow and feel ashamed
