Then why not join a club you maybe able to help someone local and at the same time get many years of knowledge passed on to you

First of all welcome to Pigeon Basics I think your first step would be to tell us where you live , a few loft visits locally would give you a feel for what you need . No reason why you can't fly from a small loft , welcome to the wonderful sport of pigeon racing

Welcome to the site if wanting tame birds you can tame them yourself by hand feeding them more chance of taming them in a small loft leave the dovecote for doves in dovecotes they usually fly off or end up as hawk meat , so a small loft much better , buy a few ybs and away you go

yup saw them little red was one on top at right hand side looked too young at about 16 days imo , have taken birds away at 18 day but they've been big robust birds

Always nice to meet up with basics members and have a wee chat , just never enough time to speak to you all , probably spoke to more before the meeting lol , hope you all enjoyed it nice to see Mr & Mrs Burgess and the wee one , even cracked a smile fer me bless

Be interesting to see the figures of attendance, however I felt there were enough people there just a lack of stall / stall holders and really missed having a cuppa in the basement and yet again not enough seating areas for us disabled !!!!
