  1. Approximately 850 birds were liberated at 11.30 in very little wind and broken cloud. Davie says they cleared well in two batches. Best of luck to all competing.
  2. Davie says it is clearing up well and we will be good to go at 11.30. Next message 11.40.
  3. Weather at racepoint not as forecast there for no liberation as yet . Expected to clear by 10am. Next message 10.10 am.

  5. SU 17 A 1748 in Forres had a nibble from a hawk but generally ok.
  6. Best of luck everyone
  7. Basketing going ahead as planned. 20 birds per crate first message Saturday 8.10am.
  8. Alan that is not what I meant. Phil is on about people taking them in and keeping them . When you get strays if you don't let them in they just hang about and cause bother. I put them in the garden shed away from mine. We all get them and all do the right thing by them. Some of us drive miles picking up and dropping off strays on a weekly basis at times and don't feel the need to play the martyr card. Keep up the good work Alan ðŸ‘
  9. Any fancier that takes in strays and keeps them with all the illness there is on the go needs there head examining. My advice if things are going wrong Phil is as follows...... go look in the mirror, a lot of your answers to your problems will be looking at you in a quizical manner! Eh!
  10. Agreed but Einstein said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. We race to the middle of September as it is Steve. Day light will be an issue as will the moult but I think if ybs get 3 or 4 races to 100 miles it is more than enough of an education in my book.
  11. I agree something needs to change. They are pretty densely populated round here and are hitting our birds constantly when training and when excercising round the loft most days. I feel they are a major contributing factor to losses and funny races but not the only reason. Add BOP strikes into young bird sickness and you have a recipe for disaster. In my opinion YBS goes undetected in too many lofts until it becomes that obvious that nobody can miss it. I also think the disease is mutating into something much more severe. As for combating BOP I think we should race later i.e right through September as it eases of a bit once we get through July. I don't racing them with old birds would work as it would put too much time pressure on the working or family man. This is my opinion and only an opinion as I do not have scientific evidence or statistics (easily manipulated ) to back it up.
  12. We have them up here also
  13. 1040 birds libbed at 7.30 blue sky with high cloud no wind ,birds cleared very quickly in 2 batches Good luck to all competing.

  17. Is this it Stuart?
  18. That would be my guess.
  19. Basketing going ahead tomorrow at the planned time. 25 birds per crate. First message 8.10am Sunday.
  20. Basketing delayed 24 hours. There is a chance of a race on Saturday but Sunday is a far better day according to the forecast hence the delay. Basketing now Saturday for a Sunday race.
