  1. Sorry to here of your loss, there are some sick b'ss out there! What birds did you have and did they fly out? Phil
  2. unfortunatly thats pigeon racing, just give them time and be patient with them. I remember when I first moved to London, i started again with youngbirds. So I thought to help hold them i'd have a pair of young fantails froma friend of mine, stated to let the fantails out as babys, they walked around the front of the loft and the lawn then one day i opened the loft door, they walked to the doors edge, looked around, both took off together and were never seen again! The young racers had to just settle themselves, and did so without problems. Phil
  3. you must have a loft full now Damian! Phil
  4. Old yellow, i know you've seen the following but still awaiting response:- Will you be running throughout the UK with your own vehicles or are your areas covered by franchised drivers? I think this is one of the biggest problems with Amtrak, because the depots are franchises, some care and many don't give a s*** about our birds. Phil
  5. on the scrounge again Jon, and you'll want it delivered and errected!
  6. Josh, stop guessing and get them tested or you could start losing birds because of incorrect diagnosis etc Phil
  7. Josh, is this in old and youngbirds or just youngbirds? Best course of action to take before any treatment when you know there is a problem is to get swab and dropping tests. In the long run will also work out cheaper as you won't keep buying expensive medication that is not needed and can treat the spacific problem! Get em tested!!!! Phil
  8. Problem is after this time and not having been settled at its hime loft will it settle now or is it a waste of money collecting it when its likely to go back to Manchester? Phil

  14. as with all racing different birds prefer different nest conditions but I would aim to have them sitting 12 to 14 days when basketing. Phil

    HOW?

Its probably been raced from France and has come over with the NFC birds that were liberated yesterday morning. Phil
  19. whenever I have had a hen lay out of the box on a perch etc and have replaced the egg it has always been infertile! The birds often know best, just let nature take care and she should lay 2nd egg in the bowl unless she is being kept from her box by another agresive cockbird etc. Phil
  20. if your going to ring the babe david then you need to do it at 5-7days old Phil
  21. Now David, what you going to do with it?
  22. i've never had to clip beaks and think the use of mineral block/pic pots help this as the beak will be worn down when the birds pick. Some birds however do seem to need there nails clipped occasionaly but be careful not to cut them back to far. Phil
  23. Great news!
  24. the cost has to be set for each handleing member of the network. i.e, fee for collector, fee for person who delivers it and maybe a fee for a trunking system to get birds between collector and deliverer as well as somebody to coordinate and administor the service. Phil
