  1. but the Van de Rhees arn't doing the distance so what family's are your local top guy's flying? Phil
  2. Different birds fly to different areas and conditions so always best to look localy but you are often unlikely to be able to buy localy as fanciers are afraid of competition hence the reason for seaking out similar line. Phil
  3. I would see what local fanciers are winning with to your area from the distance you require and try to obtain similar lines from proven stock. Phil
  4. A friend of mine does, he used to have show racers years ago and had to give them up due to health but now has racers to fly our for pleasure. Phil
  5. A lot will depend on how settled he is, how long you've had him and if he's been able to see around the area before going out. He may be around the area and come back in when you let your others out tomorrow. Many fanciers keep stock racers that don't fly. Phil

  11. The RPRA will register the birds to you with or without a loft number, they may even contact the region for one. As I said you have paid your fees so you are entitled to race, its the clubs problem if things arn't in order not yours. Why should you be penalised for there lack of action? Phil, a long suffering sec!
  12. i bet she can still run when she wants to though Chrissy! Phil
  13. If the application has been accepted you are a members of the club and liable to fees, they are very unlikely to give you them back, just force there hand by turning up to race!
  14. I would perservere with it, take your clock to the sec and tell him you intend to send to the first race. Also send any transfers to the RPRA, they will register the birds to you with or without a loft number so that you can race them. Phil

  25. As shadow says, it is the winning genes we look for and if we buy birds we try and buy the winners if we can't buy the breeders of winners if not then we look for birds as near to the winners as possible. A pedigree is only a piece of paper! Phil
