  1. sections of flights missing is not mites or feather rot! Do they have wire sections or wire on an aviary they fly against?
  2. for some reason its not working on this thread!
  3. go to more post options next to post reply, you will see a browse button, click that find and double click on your image then upload image and post. Must be smaller than 1mb though
  4. off who?
  5. Ring your local DEFRA and tell them wahts happened and tell them you have one they can take and test.
  6. the ring will have the following in it, GB or WHU or SHU or NEHU followed by a year followed by a letter then a seriel number, i.e GB08A12345
  7. disposeing was the best course of action but it should have been reported to DEFRA so the source could be also checked and tested. After vaccination they are not protected immediatly and I think it was posted a while ago they havn't got full protection for a couple of weeks.

Yes it is. The restriction was lifted years ago. They do take baby birds and eggs and will spoof your youngsters if out on the loft and have a nest near by!
  9. fed charges each club £2 per week.
  10. if you have a shed or garage, then try to entice it in to it with the wild bird food and then shut it in. Once its in catch the bird and as Mark has said there may be a telephone number stamped in the wing or give us the ring number and we will try and find the owner. Once caught keep it contained away from the cat please with food and water. Than k you for taking the time to try and help the lost bird. Phil
  11. you prob didn't need to replace the lofts just thoroughly dissinfect with virkon-s etc. You are welcome to some youngsters from here latter on but i would sugest if you get birds from different places keep them seperate for a week or 2 just in case before putting them in together. Did you get any bitds tested? If you send the rings back just ask for a refund.
  12. thats prob your answer! did you return the birds/rings and did you have any birds tested?
  13. it appears people have been having problems with some young birds purchased.
  14. it would be great if some form of network could be set up to move strays around on transporters but stricktly speaking they are not allowed to! Any strays carried on transporters will be carried against the DEFRA regulations!
  15. The difference with your example Bob is the owner took the time and effort to make the trip to you, if you'd had said no, he'd have taken the bird home! The bird numpty mention and i took to Oxford sat at my parents house for another 3 days before the owner bothered to fetch it bearing in mind he had told numpty he would arrange collection nearly 2 weeks earlier!
  16. reporting them isn't worth the hassle, feed them then toss them if old birds. I do report youngsters as they make misstakes but normally met with the usual excuses!
  17. that realy helps fanciers get birds back doesn't it!
  18. what will happen with the intergrated rings? They will be no use to anybody if cut off! Is it not a rule in Scotland that birds can not be wing stamped?
  19. Sorry Rolland, totaly disagree with you here, if you tiptoe arround the youngsters as soon as they are out and theres a bang or strange noise they get spoofed. More noise the better, let the kids in with them etc etc when they are out or on raced day they don't get spoofed by anything going on arround the loft.
  20. I hope you have kept these new birds seperate from your others! You should keep new introduction quaranteened for at least a week.
  21. will moult out a strawberry mealy
  22. not to my showracers they won't ;D ;D ;D
  23. my yellows and creams are show racers, there is yellow in the youngsters from kirky so if they last the season will see what they breed next year
  24. well done chris, did you take foxy for the rats?
  25. i do have a soft spot for those yellows!
