  1. If it was to happen it would be fantastic, funding to set it up should and could come from the RPRA/Blackpool etc but the running of it should be totaly independent of the RPRA. Best solution to me would be groups of say 10 bungalows with a warden and able bodied fancier at each location. One loft at each location run buy the able bodied fancier but open for the pensioners to participate and assist. This way they would be able to get enjoyment from the birds without the worry of being able to or having to care for them etc.
  2. its a great idea, the RPRA could use blackpool income to purchase land with outline planning etc for say 10 bungalows then build to suit complete with a loft suitable for wheelchair access etc. Once built along with a warden fanciers could put themselves on a waiting list. If it was run as private home then the income would build up into a fund to purchase more land etc etc to set up around the country.
  3. good luck Paul, wait for the buzz when you see your first bird shutting its wings and dropping in!
  4. your mate tracker will have plenty.
  5. Glad its still there for you! The positions don't mean a great deal at the moment, when you look at the training tosses the birds are arriving together and its pot luck which trap 1st.
  6. Thank you Stuart.
  7. Steve Stocker still has a few and they go back to the original blood lines. They are on the big side but with fantastic feathering and body constitution.
  8. As I said the RPRA don't implement the rules, they can suspend members now but don't!
  9. this happens more often than people realise. Over the years we have picked up loads of birds from non fanciers etc and most have the same impression of fanciers. The prob is the RPRA won't/don't do anything with the culprits.

All looking well, hope you get sorted soon and get them settled.
  11. I like the look of the youngsters here as well. Jenny (Pauls wife) will be over the moon to hear of the birds doing well. Phil
  12. Chris, are you going to have the loft at your house or at work premises? If you are going to have it at the work premises why don't you contact some of the loft builders for a demonstration loft which would be advertising for them as well as maybe being free to use!
  13. My best mate that died at Christmas went to Freds when he was getting rid of the birds, they brought a couple of pair and were gifted a couple. Its a shame Paul didn't get the chance to try them but whats now here will be tried/tested.
  14. you won't get any answers on open forum as said above Sam! Must be hideing something ;)
  15. They'll both be busy trying to beat each other with the youngsters! Both Dave and Amanda are top people!
  16. I've got a pair from Fred here Paul and they will be tested this year. Do you remember his old choc pied unrung cock?

  20. ask if they have been given medication prior to despatch as grit would/should have been witheld.
  21. ok, i may know somebody heading your way in the next few days, i will find out latter.
  22. where in wales is it?
  23. With youngbirds its all about education, they don't have to be raced to be educated but they do need to be well trained otherwise you will be treating them as baby's when they are yearlings and are likely to experience heavy losses with them.
  24. i know it takes time, but there are a lot of members who don't work or it could be done out of season. Only problem is the do gooders who cause the problem by feeding them!
  25. maybe fanciers in towns or areas with problems should offer to clear the ferals which would in turn help there own reputation.
