Sunday would be your best day to go. Jill Fisher & Mervin Platt will be sure to have something reasonable on there stand and it may be worth contacting them before hand to keep something for you. The reason I say Sunday is that often fanciers will have spare birds in the show they are willing to sell but they can't be taken until unpenning on Sunday. You may also look at a Blue cock that is silver bred as that will carry the dilute gene.
You have been the voice of reason on the forums on many an occasion, always happy to help with advice etc from your knowledge. As Rab said you achieved your dream winning the National, something many of us will continue to strive to do. Keep up the fight! Phil
Always try and give birds a lift where possible wherever I'm traveling but fanciers could help themselves and get birds back easier if they bothered to wing stamp them or put address rings on them!
Just let what you have feed there own, If you bring new birds in now they are going to be more trouble than they are worth, broken eggs, fighting etc unless they will be in a separate section.
Theft at Blackpool happen every year, a lot is by organised gangs! A few years ago we were in the Hilton and there was a group on a table at breakfast sorting who was getting what from where including birds, all being stolen to order.
