  4. i have to be awkward as usual ;D but i believe in singling yb,s ,s up as much as poss,in all directions, i find their harder to loose from this experience,,, but would prefer giving them a little experience first in their batch [i think it might be worth mentioning that skull is in s , africa]
  5. hope your luck improves,, stick in b. m, things can only get better
  6. im afraid my veiws on this [or rather my experience with this ] is not good ;D i tried it on myself, and boy,, did i suffer, eyes watered all day, nose dripped [big nose too lol ;D], very strong,, but i know fanciers who have used this and found it ok,, but to be serious i wouldnt use this, my thoughts are their respiratory system should be right by good ventilation and un-crowded lofts,,
  7. well done seona,, locked as requested,,,, good luck
  8. a great article,, johny kirkpatrick in fact stayed about 500 yards from me in loanhead for a short while , he was very freindly with p and j thomson , who owned the shoe shop in loanhead, allthough this was many years ago,and both the thomson bros deceased now, were great distance fliers with birds obtained from the great johny kirkpatrick,,
  9. not much help cowboy , but i did have that very copy, but sent it to an american fancier some time ago,, pity, you could have had it,, [not much consulation in that ,, but just a pity,, bet someone will have it

  19. cracking looking birds,, top class
  20. yes i agree, very sound advice,, especially obtain birds that can win over your own terrain ,then the three c,s,,i,e, condition, control and contentment,, this cannot be obtained by poor ventilation, overcrowding etc, sometimes keeping things simple i find is the best
  21. no if the birds are properly basket trained, and there is plenty water on the transporter, they should drink freely , given a little rice well b4 basketing would [in my opinion], do no harm,
  22. youve surprized me in seeing these two crackers , i would say the blue ring one was a cock and the other a hen,, their more like sir colin than the sire is,, good luck with them,,
  23. many differ on this subject, if racing your birds, i would say keep clean as much as poss, [bone dry droppings are "clean" but damp droppings lying over 24 hours,, a haven for desease] personally i like to scrape the perches /boxes/floor each day, ,,in winter have easybed under the perches , but still scraping the loft out each day, and taking the worst of the muck from the easybed,,[on dry days lightly spray the loft with virkon s,,, my thoughts are not only to keep the loft clean, but to bond with the birds, hopefully producing less stress by having tame birds, that know me well, only my opinion
  24. need to see some pics,,,,,
