hi mikey,, i used to breed a few chocolates from the old grooters [hammond and whitiker lines], these birds as yb,s were pure chocolate coloured, each year they moulted they grew the white splashes, ,, when they were 3 or 4 year old there was actually more white on them than chocolate ,, strange but true

basicly both are the opposite .i,e the darkening system is to fool the birds into thinking its winter , until they have a full body moult , but retain their nest flights the lightening system is to fool the birds it is summer , so they have a full moult,,,[this could poss involve more] ,,in both these systems the yb,s will have a second moult my preference would be for yb racing is the darkness system,

it has been suggested by quite a few p,b members, that a card for tammy and chrisies wedding be put up, then acknowledged by our members,, i,e signed , if any computer expert could do this, im sure they would be much appreciative, this could be done for future weddings , as we allready have birthday greetings , so maybe weddings ,, any thoughts

think most have congratulated them both, andy,, both on posts and pm,s , maybe take tammy [and now wife lol ;D] a while to see them all ;D ;D,, , im sure they well know all our kind wishes

lavender grows in the garden [if planted] and soon grows into a bush , the stalks of this bush can be used as above

some insecticides are actually made with lavander lol they even love carrying them to the nest if left outside ,, great smell as well if the birds didnt like the smell, they wouldnt carry these to the nest ,,yip, great for the moths as well
