the pigeon spray contains pyr,,,,, same as household spray again engineered to make tetramethron, but household is cheaper, birds dont like either, but ok after a few minutes, when the birds have been out,

yes, flying the natural system, learns you more about the birds themselves, for brand new starters, its well worth taking your time, crawling before you walk, walking before you run,,, patience is the game,,,,but try and have told me that when iwas 14 ?? :)
-
must admit bren their trully amazing, and they never cease to amaze you :)
-
usually they manage to fly back somehow , then the next day they are unabe to fly, why not put a low perch for it, that would let it jump up and give it peace, i would also stretch the wing out gently a few times each day, save it seizing up, ive had them like that b4 and went on to win, but off course its difficult over the internet , to diagnose things, but best of luck anyway, bren.

doesnt sound broken,if the wing sprung back in again,, ittl more likely to be badly bruized, and usually takes some time to recover,

must admit ive only had a few probs with amtrack, but really a "few "is not good enough. going back to billymacs post, i might be wrong but when you sign the paper, your signing a contract ,ie 24 hour delivery, if they break that contract they should be in trouble, i remember with interlink, my birds were sent to the wrong depot, but after a few phone calls from the SENDER, they run my 2 birds by taxi, from dundee to edinburgh

if their flying well on what your giving them ,i would leave well alone, but if their not flying much , i would lighten the mix, even as far as 50 pc depurative 50 pc mix, but when they started flying longer i would up the protein. i had that problem once ,the darkness ybs were fed high protein, and were like turkeys, they were treading before they were flying :), but thats what i did ,fed 50 50 flagged them ,and they were soon going, then i upped the protein again when they were flying well.and they continued to fly well

training after the first race
jimmy white replied to lordcornwallis's topic in Novices, Beginners & Young Fanciers
personaly i would like to get them out more, but everyone is not in that position,, if its work thats stopping you , could you not get them out and in b4 you go to work, but ,much as we like our birds ,work has to come first -
when birds are out try a skoosh of ordinary household fly spray, youll see the moths comming out of every crook and cranny
-
dont think its red mite p,h, its usualy when their on young the get that, the red mite hide in the dark usualy under the ybs wings, but would do no harm to spray......one way to find ut is *expletive removed* your finger,[or prefferably someone elses ;D ;D]squeese a little blob of blood near the box or nesting place, in the dark,,go out with torch and if theres red mite, theyll be on that blood,,,,,,[they feed on the blood of the birds especialy ybs in the nest]if you squees one between your nails, its just bloodyou see,,,,,got me scratching now ;D ;D ;D
