i would think pjc would be correct,, but a seperate venue, who knows,, could be poss ,, then again, on the pb stand [allthough not sure] would be able to sell pigeons ,, then what about a selling class in aid of pb, ??

well done jason,, well deserved results

if your going to race pigeons, the sad bit is they wont all survive, unfortunately. you should really be sending them with confidence in the fact that you have gotten them race fit , to the best of your ability,, to lose as less as possible , and hopefully win,,

well done,, superb job,,

very well done, congratulations to you i quoted the above "a blend of differant distance lines "as , in this country we usually ask,," what breed is it", they dont talk like that in belgium ,, its usually winners to winners for their respective distances,,,,,,,,,,,,, the hybrid vigour ;D great result ,, 1st bird from great brittain ,,great

i have voted for "something else" in the context , treated that if needed,, i would much rather have a full droppings, swab test, regular,, my intent would be to try and have healthy pigeons, by cleanliness ,dryness , and good loft management, but treated if need be in the past i have found out , that fanciers can have the dryest ,cleanest loft , but forget about the outside of the loft, i usually watering can , all this area , with jeyes fluid or virkon s , as in my opinion this is were most worms, cocci oocysts can thrive

yes cowman,, these were used for a while [still are for sale] but unfortunately didnt have the desired effect,, the same was the glitter,, a bit of glue with ,,glitter on , again never had the desired effect , same as the owls from the garden centres etc , i found these worked to a certain extent with sparrow hawks ,, but they very soon got wise to these ,, tammy on the forum , had the tape of an eagle owl,[the perigrines enemy] i have never tried this [but seemed sence ],,,,one of these days , someone will think of something [[dont answer that ;D ;D] to bring the hawk problem to a head ,, but the perigrine and sparrow hawks are so abundant now, that the pigeons must "race the gauntlet" to arrive home,,,,,and getting worse each year , so who knows,, the red dye might actually work ,certainly no harm in trying it
-
i think you could well be right roland ,,after what i wittnessed the other week , they were actually grabbing the underside of the pigeon,, so, who knows,, maybe just something in this,,,,anything is worth a try,, [just means a lot of red cheqs going mext year ;D]

many years ago, whilst working as a t,v aerial rigger, i was doing a job on a farm, i spotted many pigeons in the barn, a pair of rung birds among them,,,,i promptly put the ladders up and rung two young in birds in the nest, after explaining to the farmer , what i was about,, went back 3 weeks later,, there was one yb ready to leave,,,,,,,,,,,,this pigeon topped the mid-lothian fed , then flew 550 miles [back on second day] not on the result ,,, as will be noted in the" scotlands own book" cant remember what year, as a footnote by the editor doing an article on myself ;D, the p,o officer had the reult in the b h w ,, first fed " barnie" [born in a barn] [kind of apt at christmas time ] the next 9 birds were all van this and van that ;D ;D ;D but "barnie" showed them all the road ;D ;D ;D,,,true ;D p.s there is no truth in the rumour ,that the webmaster was seen at this barn with a pair of ladders ;D ;D ;D

to add my pennies worth :) these £2,000 pigeons are bought by the big money men, but does it say that the big money men win? the old adage says,, you can buy the pigeon , but you cant buy the fancier,, no one forces anyone to buy, this is completely up to the fancier, and him [or her] alone, and in my opinion , you certainly dont need to pay this amount , to win races,, you can get very cheap,or even gift pigeons , excellent pigeons ,that with the proper management , would knock spots off any fancier who tries to buy success,, you cannot buy success

in these old days ,you could cycle to your nearest railway station , have your basket weighed, then mark on the label where you wanted them tossed [if you kept your foot under the scales it was pretty cheap ;D ;D ;D] but the basket was returned with the label filled in,, liberated at such and such a time , even the weather was written on the label then dr beeching came along??? end of
