  1. This club needs to be named and allowed to give an explanation. Tin pot dictators springs to mind just not real. But alas one of the many reasons why one loft races will dominate our sport in years to come. Takes the discussion making out of the hands OF THOSE WHO are unable to debate, understand, and act accordingly. Sad day indeed.looking forward to hering more on this issue. Cheers Rab Smith

  8. Without doubt they are good for our sport, yes there will always be some who talk of money made. However where else can one win this kind of money, in our sport today.after all the feeding and training, and time put in, there may be £50 in a club on a sat. There will of course be clubs with a lot more than that but there are also clubs with less than £50 Wish the one loft race lofts all the best in this coming season. It is they who are laying the foundation, for the way in which our sport will go, in the years to come. Cheers Rab Smith
  9. This great for our sport takes us to whole new level. Can only be good for our future. Exciting times ahead Happy days Rab Smith
  10. Billy wish you all the best mate,be prepared for the worse mate and you be fine Love the name "king billy"
  11. Would be surprised if they are not, though must admit i know little about them, other than following closely the new one in Edinburgh.Indeed it does this site proud. One thing I was wondering, if it is possible with todays tech, if the return of the birds can be filmed live as it happens. Now that would be somethingeles Just a thought I sure someone will tell me. Rab Smith
  12. Agree Rose, but for some the averages are what is in there minds
  13. No big deal Rose, only clarifying things as you requested. If i have offended you in any way, shape or form, please except my profound apologies. Happy days Rose Happy days Cheers Rab Smith
  14. Our Gladdo had requested some birds for a mate of his, from someone on this site. He made it plain he would pay for them and wanted to get about 10 think from the one source. I then suggested pigeon studs and asked DOVEscot to assist by sending out some web sites that will help the guy out. DOVEscot then done this then i said thanks As stated all you got to do, is resist, reading just one part, if you read from top, you will get the full picture Getting birds from anyone on this site money or not, needs to be monitored closely ,especially the gifted birds, there is no real way of telling just how many a new start gets or acquires. I am all for helping, but as with all things in life, there are always those who will abuse yeah. Indeed this should be addressed going forward Whats your thoughts. cheers Rab Smith
  15. Rose look at the whole page mate, and you will see that they are only a list of places where one might purchase birds, as requested by Gladdo at the top. Happy days Cheers Rab Smith
  16. Well said stuart it is in times of need that we must act in order to help our own cheers Rab Smith
  17. Power to the DOVEscot, these will come in handy for me as well mate, looking for birdsshortly. once got loft up and running. However I will be paying, whatever i have to pay to get the birds, I will need to do the job. I am sure there will be something on your list of studs, that will suit his requirements as well as his pocket. Now thats what you call giving a helping hand to new starts Thanks for that mate Cheers Rab Smith
  18. DOVEscot Your a wizard with these computer things mate, send this guy a link to a couple pigeon studs, who will be happy to help. Happy days Rab Smith
  19. Good luck mate I am almost at the same stage.Off to see huts to day Went to see a loft last night, but it was not what i required 8 ft wide just to much for the space i have. Intend to buy a 8x6 and add a 4ft aviary.Depends what kind of framing need as near to 2x2 as i can get. Dont get me wrong would love to have built the loft from scratch, however not as fit as i once was "o" how i hate growing old. Still happy days ahead, my son has just returned from London so I will at least get a hand. Looking forward to having the birds after a 8 year break Happy days Rab Smith
  20. Guess its important to say, we should understand just what hard work, both in effort and time, with this kind of thing. Been following things closely and would like to say, you are all a credit to our sport, well done. All the best to all in 08 Cheers Rab (I'll be back) Smith
  21. This is very true phil
  22. One other though, Louella and other studs dispatch birds to Scotland, as they do to all parts of the country on a regular basis. At present they will give no more mind to sending birds to Stirling one day, and Glasgow the next. Now with there co-operation, there can be no good reason why a consignment of birds for Scotland, could not be dispatched on a weekly of fortnightly basis.Or indeed for all regions. Now it could be argued that this would at least reduce the cost on birds purchased from the big studs, which contribute to a large part of pigeon transportation within the uk. A little thought this could become a reality Happy days Rab Smith
  23. Yes DoveScot, This is interesting, and something that really should be addressed, though i have been away from the birds for a number of years it would seem Amtrak are no better today than they were 10 years ago. Think it would be true to say that such a new service would be supported by most. However for me the money making part "short deliveries" is mostly done by the fancier. Wish i had a fiver for every time ip picked up birds bought or reported in a 20 mile radius. I think a network of holding lofts would help.Leaving the central belt of Scotland to take one pigeon to Aberdeen say would be a big part of the down side. However if this bird was held for a week or so, you may have other birds to take north as well, thus making at least viable Doing something regionally is worth looking at and any feasibility study should be backed and monitored at both fed and Union level. If we cant get the service outside the sport we should long since tried to solve it ourselves, Cheers Rab Smith Yeah
