spot on,patience is a virtue, lanarkshire are lucky to have someone of jims standing looking after your birds. :)
  4. very well done to welsh & holland darvel 1st section11th open snfc falaise flying into the extreme west, these guys have kept plugging away in recent years and have now been rewarded with a cracker! :).special mention 2nd section 72nd open to good friend john harwood (bhw scribe)1st,2nd and 2x 4th sections from 5 national races this year, this man started the season with 18 birds in his team and still has 14 birds left including 2x yearlings flown falaise 522mls,great flying john and surely gives us all hope in days when all we talk about are terrible losses!!!! :) :)
  5. walker & wison st abbs 8.20ish, d norden langholm 9.01, snfc libline update a tad slow again!!!! :(
  6. great to see " the mighty lanarkshire fed" finally getting their act together and competing with the snfc from the final channel race, just hope you are not too disappointed if the first fed bird is not 1st section! snfc, ;) good luck to the members of midland fed and also s/lanarkshire fed. :)
  7. SU08CA3350 tossed at broxburn back with me!!! anybody know which club? :-/ :
  8. yes definately the same man 1st open nantes snfc 1988, i remember the race very well sending 4 birds and winning the region,3 birds clocked in just over an hour and a half 614mls on the shift, stayed up all night and timed the 4th bird a 10yr old hen at 5.35am,was only 21 at the time, timed 4 birds 2 weeks later from sartilly 511mls again on the shift, the glory days, not to many birds about these days that have flown 500,600 mls on the day into scotland wonder why? :( wee trip down memory lane. :)
  9. 3 different races from 450 mls to 650mls the biggest convoy 300 birds, not too clever from us canny scots, the weather was terrible but what do we expect with such small numbers, never mind the snfc & snrpc will just have to run more yb sales to raise funds and maybe even a coffee morning!!!!!!!! :'( :'( very dissapointed distance fancier. :'( :'( lets get it sorted.
  10. got too disagree with your point, officialdom comes with a price an awful lot of people give up time at weekends to attend council meetings trying to find solutions to problems mostly created by clubs and feds not using proper procedures, myself i am married with a family and can think of a lot better things too do on a sunday, governing bodies in our sport could do with more support from "ordinary doomen"as stated, these guys are mostly doomen also.
  11. i could be wrong here, the last time a national was won in lanark was the snfc gold cup from rennes won by j wilson & son in 1960, the son being robert wilson of the wilson & jack partnership, well done. :) :)subject to confirmation.
  12. well done del, linda and craig, just finished the doos, going for some poached eggs on toast, hopefully you will get a tours bird soon, good luck. :)
  13. very well done stuart,your hen flew a perfect race. :) :)
  14. southpaw did you join the forum just to have a go at the kirkintilloch club and its members?,the krpc members will continue to do their talking by competing at the highest levels. ;) quote a wee bit criptic please explain.
  15. scottish national liberated midday 2005 and had a good race, with an even spread of birds around the sections, remember this race has always been a test and will be no different this weekend. :) ;)
  16. congratulations to my good friend john bosworth winning his 3rd national, fantastic performance from a special fancier! :) :) :)
  17. i feel a very big yawn coming on, this thread was started because kirkintilloch club failed with an application to fly their youngsters with glasgow fed flying the east coast route due to terrible losses from the traditional route, the members of the club felt this was the only way to try to replenish their depleted racing teams.alas we did not gain membership but still feel we must try and race our youngsters from the east side,so maybe we can cut out the cheap shots at the kirky club and get on with the racing, which the kirky club does well, congratulations to members of the club who have done well in the snfc & midland fed open eastbourne,90% returns at 400mls not too bad, also well done jim wilkinson airdrie a cracker prob 1st sec snfc & 1st open midland fed, good luck too all fanciers in the weekends gold cup race. :) :)
  18. traditional route, yes vote taken.
  19. proposals in all shapes have been put up at midland fed agm, either a full east coast route or kirkintillochs proposal of starting east first 120 mls ie 3 or 4 races then traditional route,no joy. :'( :'(
  20. would appear that mr gibson has more chance of joining glasgow fed than the kirkintilloch club! :) good luck to all kirkintilloch members competing in snfc and midland fed eastbourne race. :)
  21. anyone have a breakdown of the birdage? :)
  22. well done george and gareth, will it be the pooler for eastbourne? :) ;)
