Who out there would help Pigeontracker, by linking up with them, saving the huge amount of mileage done by one driver. Jimmy White has helped out so far, by taking my birds in watering and feeding them, he is in Edinburgh. I,m from Fife and would help out by picking up from Jimmy, and delivering Fife, and also handing Dundee and northwards to someone in that area. Lets put our heads together and put our own services to Pigeontracker, thus helping everyone out. Just an idea, that would surely work, but only if we helped ourselves. Meanwhile give Jamie and his staff some support, they are generaly doing a fantastic job.

Delboy its like anything else in life, when its good its good, and when its bad its very bad. The service i recieved along with Jimmy was second to none, and would use them again. Its unfortunate that your not getting the same service, you need to contact them and see what the problem was, it may be legitimate???? Its also unfortunate that our lifestyle demands perfection with no room for error (not a dig just an opinion). Gone are the days where we accepted lee-ways, its life as we now know it . Hope it all works out for you m8, all the best alex.

Looking at the comparisons between worst parts and best parts of the season. Worst parts has had 566 viewings, and 31 comments. Best parts has had 457 viewings, and 28 comments. I would have thought there would have been a lot more highs than lows, or has it been one of those seasons?

Check their website m8 www.pigeontracker.com, hope that helps.

Who won the young bird national vagin? so what your realy saying that the east doesnt send quality birds? its not all about numbers at all, if you have the birds to fly why not fly them? There is always going to be big team fliers wherever you go and that is their perogative. If its quality that was sent where were the rest in Scotland. You know and i know there is a lot of hurdles to overcome when in a race, ie holdovers, weather, new liberation point, clashing, wires the list goes on. you never actually gave an answer to the thread vagin, you just took the oportunity to take a pop at whoever was in line, and that was the east. Theres very good fliers in the west and i take my hat off to them when they do well in races, but thats me.

Here in Fife we look for the birds dropping into Gretna area ect, then give them 2 hours to be in with a chance. Depending on the wind off course, but with the young bird national at the weekend, we were expecting them into the borders (east), first. As it happens, the fife boys had a great race, but where was the drag into the borders, it didnt make sense. Its like they have been out in the water then came back in again hitting Fife just at the right places. I think its all ifs and buts, it looks good on paper to try something different, but when put into practice, thats when you get your hindsight fanciers coming to slate it as a bad idea. I do think its a great idea to get as much northern feds/nationals to go to the same race point and liberate st the same time, thus having a northern race? As ive said before in Fife we have 2 feds and in scotland we have 2 nationals, we all go to the same point and liberate at different times, where is the sense in that. I think its high time we looked after our birds a little better than we are at the moment (only an opinion).
-
Maybe a bit niave here, but the word "drag" is often used when talking about liberations. Would it not be a bit unfair to the shorter distance fliers having the "drag" coming to scotland. I personaly think if the bird is worth its salt its going to want to come home and not follow others. As for winds deciding the race, thats part and partial of racing and there is nothing we can do about it. I look at Mr Wilcox from Peterhead when he won the Alencon national flying 631 miles, to see that this bird didnt get dragged anywhere, and that was 130miles approx more than the south west boys (Kirkpatrick Fleming). My point is, does the "drag" realy effect the good birds? me personaly, young birds yes, old birds, mm not too sure.

Cheers Gary and phil. Its going to a long 7 months with no reflection on 2008, but the shows and Blackpool will help to break it up a bit. Getting the new loft on monday, and sorting the garden out to suit will keep me busy too. Stroll on 2009, lol. -

Thanks guys. feel a bit like a doo man again lol. Yer a star Duncan, i,ll bring the wee man along when the fantails are ready. He loves the birds, i,ve even got him shaking the tin when i,m shouting the birds down, a wee star. Thanks again, alex. -
My 46 young birds, had their first full day out today since i moved house. The count tonight is 44 in the loft and 2 on the roof, am i a happy bunny or what. The reason i still have 46 is because i thought i would be moving house after the season, but we moved earlier. I tried my hardest to train them from this garden before i moved and it has paid divedends. It is a joy to be able to sit and watch them pick about in the garden once more, now once they re settled i,ll start to winter train them, ready for next year. As the season is all but over i,ve got 7 months to get them tuned up. A special thanks to mook Honeyman who kept an eye out for them at my old address, and did the honours of flagging 5 that had decided to pay a visit, thanks again mate.
