  1. This could evolve into something massive. This can be used for all sorts of statistics. You could possibly be able to record every birds details, and look over them after the race is finished. The one about the bird in someones loft is a cracker, so it would stop theftect, unless the rings were removeable. You turn up at someones door and say " you have one of my birds, its sitting in box 1". lol I,d be interested in the costing and the setting up of such a system.
  2. Never seen dragons den m8, was it along the same lines as i,m sugesting? The cost would be a big thing, its like everything else it starts out expensive then levels itself out. Might even be an idea that the clubs raise funds and do it per club as oppose to individuals. Theres a wide scope, but cost and set up are the hurdles
  3. This is where we need someone in the know, to let us know how to go about it. I think 99% of the fancy would jump at the chance to be involved in something like this. We would also learn more about the birds.
  4. Wouldnt it be a good idea to be able to track our birds. My thought is: to have a website set up, that you register for a fee. You are supplied chipped rings, just like ets, you register them with the web site, and fit them to the birds. When there is a race on, and you would like to see your bird/birds progress, you type in the ring number, and it shows you exactly where that bird is. I know this would involve satelites, but if they can tell you where your car is at any given time, using satnav, surely it could work for the birds? Just a thought, and it would give us invaluable information, ie routes, losses. Any thoughts.
  5. Its ok if they know what basket it came out of, to take numbers.
  6. Not sure on the exact rule. But if the convoyer reports an escapee, the race is null un void and needs to be raced again, i would have thought, just my opinion.
  7. Welcome m8
  8. I fully agree with you rednyellow. I,m all for bettering the sport and keeping it alive.
  9. YES.There is an inbalance in the bird population, which needs to be addressed, NOW!!!
  10. Go to the googl bar and type in Frank sheader yorkshire, it gives you pictures and contact details.
  11. Dont go in the oven, go in transport that is in the best interest of the pigeon. If it means using a state of the art trailer, then so be it. It will be in the best interests of the sport if we start to build again, instead of dismantling it.
  12. Go together????????????
  13. What would be the potential problems if the 2 nationals did share the same transport and cost?
  14. Nice mix pearse, how do you get on with them?
  15. I,ve e-mailed them, thanks guys
  16. Thought that merlin thanx
  17. Is that Murray brothers, jimmy?
  18. thanks jimmy
  19. Does anyone know the best place to purchase the Dordin strain, be it stock birds or young birds, Thank you.
  20. I joined our great sport when the SNFC split, for whatever reasons. And also Fife Federation split for whatever reasons. We now have SNRPC and SNFC at national level, and also Fife Federation and Kingdom racing pigeon club, at federation level. The aim is the same, to race our birds. I feel very saddened at the politics, but cant feel that it is the fancy ourselves that are being destructive to our sport. Surely if all the facts are addressed with the best intention of sport and sorted, surely we could help each other, before we kill our own sport. Theres always going to be differences of opinions, which is normal in any body of sport. I would like to see common sense prevail, and we all get our heads together, sit around a table and strenghten the sport, not destroy it. Only an opinion. For the record i flew my 2 out of 3 years with the snfc, for no other reason, than thats what the majority of members in my club were affiliated to. And i also flew with Fife federation, for the same reason.
  21. Is this guy untouchable or something, to hell with asking, just go and take what is rightfully yours. After all he never asked you did he. What club fed and national is this low life belonging to. Tell us all and they can kick him out, dont just walk away, sort it out.
  22. Good luck shadow. I,m sure theres a reason, all the best
  23. Have you tried phoning him, there may be a logical reason why he's not answering. God forbid he isnt in the middle of a crisis. Its a shame when people put themselves forward to help the sport, that they get pelters from every direction when things arent going the way they expected. I appreciate that theres interest, but he may be in a predicament that is out of his control. Only a suggestion.
  24. Hope they return m8
  25. A lot of Fife birds were coming out from the north as well clocky. It seems like the south west wind pushed them further up the way than expected. We only have 1 race from Kelso this year as oppose to 2, then its into Otterburn for 1 as oppose to 2. The thinking behind this is, that the fanciers who didnt go to the first 3 races ie kelso, kelso, otterburn, then jump them in with the trained boys (to get a pull home with the experienced ones), they are now forced to join the young bird season quicker. I dont understand people who cant be bothered going to the first race, after all the season is short enough.
