  1. Dont know much about the area Colin, quite rural I think. I could think of better places to stay in lanarkshire, Newbigging, Forth, Ravenstruther areas maybe, if you want to win section in SNFC.
  2. Greengairs in Scottish Midland fed, used to be Watston club but I dont think they have club anymore. Greengairs has a great history of top west section SNFC fliers. McIntyre Bros, Lindon & Shaw, Eck Mathieson, and presently , SNFC President John Houston to name just a few.
  3. ;D ;D Mr .H is ambidextrous ;D ;D
  4. Nice play on words there ;D
  5. I think initially the inland nationals were a good idea but now alot of people want their fed races back. For this to happen several feds would need to get there heads together and joint convoy. This may happen again in a few years I imagine.
  6. This is a witch hunt, double standards from start to finish >
  7. The best chance the north and west section guys have got to win national is if it a midday lib.
  8. All go to AGM and get things changed then
  9. So true, Jack McGougan was a very close friend of mine and a brilliant pigeon man. He ran the Glasgow fed with a forward thinking attitude and was always willing to move with the times. Indeed, I think Glasgow fed were the first to use ETS as well as duplicating with the SNFC for Channel races before most feds had thought about it. Alot of folk dont know that Jack was once on the SNFC committee and he stated that the SNFC should be taking feds to the coast races.( 40 years ago ) The rest of the committee thought this ridiculous but look whats happened today, Jacks prediction came true.I spent hundreds of hours on the phone to Jack, talking about pigeons into the small hours of the morning. His enthusiasm for the game after 50 years would put most present fanciers to shame. I do believe the Glasgow fed misses the likes of Jack at the helm, in fact, any fed could do with his administrative qualities, saying this with no disrespect to the present officials but Jack was in a league of his own IMO. Alot of successful fanciers have flew in the Glasgow fed and Jack McGougan from Alexandria was amongst the very best of them. A true gentleman that never got caught up in the jealous back stabbing that goes on in the sport , he was first to congratulate you when you won and first to console you when you lost a good bird. Sadly missed , THE LATE JACK McGOUGAN
  10. SOLD ;D
  11. Lanarkshire missed a chance to take 42 lofts in from Kirkintilloch and now Kirky is no more.Bad management and vision from the Lanarkshire officials. The members of Kirkintilloch have either left the sport or have joined Glasgow fed. :B ps. Nobody is interested in joining Lanarkshire fed anymore, too many knives in back. I personally wouldnt join it now after 10 years of trying
  12. I am not saying there isnt top fliers up there,( top doomen everywhere )what Im saying is, if the likes of Richard Combe, Jim Hannah, G.Rankin, P.Virtue, J.Hodgeson, were sitting in a loft next to him, then they would do same. IMO it is harder to fly a pigeon 550 miles into the west than 600+mls into the north east especially with the normal westerly winds. No question about the abilities of Donaldson, but definately not in a league of his own. ps. I know a guy that moved to Duns and was in top 20 open from Rennes immediately with a yearling. He hadnt scored in Rennes before and after winning out of turn, he moved back to the west and barely timed in .
  13. Totally disagree with you, imo top fanciers everywhere. Granted Jim Donaldson is best in North section but put any number of top fanciers up there next to him and they would do the same as him.
  14. Lanarkshire would be daft not to go with the SNFC, economics and all that. Any fed not taking the opportunity to go with the SNFC is foolish IMO
  15. The eye tells me the condition of the pigeon, nothing more . For me ,it is the mirror of health and this pigeon is in good nick as the mascara round outside of eye indicates.JMO
  16. Harry Sloan is very friendly with Mel and has had the best from him, unfortunately Harry told me they were not scoring over 350 - 400 miles into Lanarkshire but were very good up to that.
  17. Cheers Frank, but I will only enter one class. My ybs arent finished yet
