I timed into my T3 and looked out my door to see another bird land on the loft of another fancier, flying 60 yds further than me. His bird trapped immediately and he was inside waiting at the trap to clock in extra fast time.He used a TOULET and at clock check I obviously thought I had narrowly beat him. I was the secretary at the time and I read the clock dials ( 10 second ) Unbelievably, when I made up result, I was beat with point of a yard for 1st place. My point here is, TOULET clocks are not accurate enough and rely on human assumption. When a result is very close then the dials in a toulet clock can be read a couple of seconds either way. This is not efficient enough nowadays, therefore I would back the banning of Toulet clocks.

Totally agree with you. Jim Hannah is undoubtedly the best Gold cup specialist in the West Region in recent years and has a far better record than most folk in Scotland.

My grandfather kept them from 1930 and I joined him in 1973 aged 7. I left partnership in 80s when I was on the drive myself ;D and returned in 1989. My grandfather passed away in 1991 and ive flown myself since. My total time in pigeons, about 36 years.

I have done this for years when the birds arent looking great. Grit only, garlic in water and watch the down flow again When you fast a pigeon or human, you get all the major organs working and thats the kickstart they need sometimes. If early breeding go through same procedure with hens before mating

Thank you all that have posted, I believe the overall view is that we still need the inland nationals and at least 3 channel races. I will take this to the SNFC meeting today and the management committee will then make a recommendation for the race programme to the AGM. Cheers, Derek Hay

The auld fella was my grandfather, Wull McCrae aged 81 at that time.He was a top pigeon man in our area. I believe this photo was in the Gazzette 1991 . Thanks for the memories Sammy

Wrong, positions are 10-1 as any other race. There were only 30 positions awarded in Andrezel this year although other birds timed were mentioned.
