Daphnes Delight won the main event in 1966 and the whole of Croy were out in the streets celebrating Thats back when pigeon racing didnt have as many jealous people. Indeed, the 1960s- 1970s saw the west section win Rennes a few times. Last was Matt White in 1980
Remember this race very well as I won 7th Open into Kirkintilloch. The first 7 birds were right across the country from east to west, imo this was a great win by Joe Murphy . ps, Think stb was 29th Open that day
Go for it Duncan Its always good to see folk trying to help our sport. Its very hard to get pigeon supplies nowadays and alot of people use the internet to get their stuff. Its good to go out and get a couple of bags of feeding and have a BLETHER.
Burnbank is a good working club with all members participating. Harmony in clubs now is very rare, well done to Peter White ( secretary )and Jim Hannah ( President )for running the club so well.
Cheers Stuart for your support, but I dont understand what you mean by saying ''to no avail'' was their a vote took on whether Glasgow fed would let certain Kirky members back in ??
Yes, typical dark ch of Eddies. I met Eddie once at Bill Dorwards loft in Arbroath, Bill flies Eddie Mann pigeons and does extremely well at the distance with them.
I heard that Dumbarton and Kirkintilloch ???? were let in as long as each individual member was passed by the officials of the fed first. Is there any truth in this ?
