  1. Derek, I flew in the Midland fed for 4 years m8 and every year the ybs were decimated.( especially the first 3 races ) The thing that puzzled me was that the members got hammered and pretended they didnt. It showed in the main yb race of the year ( the open race ) when only 200 birds were entered from 200 members, that equates to 1 bird per member. I liked the Midland fed, I liked the members in it and there was alot of good pigeon men competing in it but I disliked the fact that they went west because Airdie got the advantage over everyone. They went east before but Denny and Slammanan were cleaning up and the returns were excellent. Immediately they turned back west so the Airdrie and Chapelhall guys got the red cards, regardless of losses. The Kirky club pulled out of the yb season in the Midland fed because previous years were so bad.By the way, I was leading all the major fed trophies and I only needed a timer in all the yb races to win them, inc the John Donald trophy when we decided to go down the east with lanarkshire.I felt, looking after my ybs was more important than winning any fed trophies or averages.I cant understand why folk dont want the best start for there birds, old or young. We have the same debate every year and ive yet to be proved wrong. Ask yourself this, why have dozens of fanciers left the Midland fed to go with Lanarkshire.Believe me, its not because they love the lanarkshire fed!!!!!
  2. We dont want to breed 100 ybs to be left with 20 Derek.Thats not a hobby, its running the gauntlet and a game of chance.Cruelty , imo, but, as I said before, we would all like to fly down the west, but we cant.
  3. This is true, we have to get over the hump yet but at least the ybs are getting a start.I said for years at the Midland fed agm, start east and then go more west. The birds need experience and a good start. By the way, im not at all happy with any fed losing birds.Im not one of these cranks that wishes the worst on other feds
  4. Nothing *expletive removed* changes. Poor ybs sent to the slaughter imo Warned ye Colin and its not finished yet, all this because certain folk want an advantage and a red card. Same day, same weather Lanarkshire have 95% returns from a further race point. We would all like to fly down the traditional route but cant because of the BOP. I wonder how Gareth and King Billy got on for returns, how many did they send with the Midland? I know Gareth had 54/54 with Lanarkshire
  5. Is that right Danny, where you get yer info?? why are the Midland fed members not coming on here and telling the story??
  6. Let the truth about returns be told so we can all learn for futures
  7. Guaranteed Mick, we ll defo have a bad yin down east but would like to see how the Midland fed got on compared to Midlothian as they both have different lines from Longtown.
  8. Was it a good race and good returns Leo???

  11. Good, how did the Midland fed get on coming up the M74, BANDIT COUNTRY
  12. Y.B.S = ADENOVIRUS, This means its a virus and if you went to the docs with a virus, he wouldnt and couldnt give you anything for it. Antibiotics are no use for YBS.It may be used for a secondary illness but not for YBS. Ive found that adenosan on the feed helps to stabilise the bile in the gut that is created by YBS. Mind ye, most of them come through it with light feed and vits in water.
  13. Do you hold them back , darken or whatever to retard the moult Lee
