I had a hen I called the English hen, come from Ypres a few years ago.It circled the loft and then landed on a house roof 50 yards up the street.I shouted and shouted it but it just looked at me.I said to the boy, run round and hunt it off the roof but there was a big dog in the garden and he couldny get at it.The English hen never went to any roof, it always was a great trapper so after sitting all night from when she came, around 7.25pm, I came to the conclusion it wasn't her and was a stray.I even sat in the dark looking at her, bewildered. At 04.45am I looked out the bedroom window to see if she was still there, yip, she was.I shouted her out the window and she flew right down onto the f kin trap. The air was blue and I called her for everything. She might have won the west section if trapped her normal way, instead she got a minor diploma.I called Bill Southward, the guy who bred her and he explained that her sire did the exact same after a long flight, he would sit on roof and sleep for hours, expletive remove. He should've told me before I sent her lol.
