  2. Lewis, I canny understand your attitude. I suppose when your 23 you see things differently lol.You seem to think there are no advantageous positions from distance races??How wrong are you here. Its not only inland races that are unfair, location is the key to all national races. Remember, ye canny demand success in the big events.
  3. SOUND AS A POUND TWILIGHT ZONE COLIN, LOL
  4. Now theres an idea from a relatively new guy to the sport, I think its deffo the answer to a lot of the problems. 2 different averages, 2 different types of fanciers ( middle /long distance).Brilliant idea Geordie my old son.
  5. I cannae see Lanarkshire fed going with the nat next year, unfortunately.
  6. Well said John
  7. I won the Big Kirkintilloch clubs longest inland race 7 or 8 times Stu, only timing yearlings. At least half of these scored across the water in later years. In fact, I can remember the first 5 or 6 on our result one year going on to score in channel races.Hoody will confirm this.

  15. This was my initial thought as well but you cant cancel it, birds are being marked all over Scotland and £1000s have been spent on these birds being prepared for the race. Its a f k up really that will put a wee cloud over the nat again.
  16. Would ye collect mine m8, ill leave them in a basket at side of the house, creep in just in case ye wake me, lol. Atb bud
  17. Oh right Charlie, im not up to speed m8, cheers. Wish there was a spokesperson for the SOLR on here to keep folk in the picture. Its all guess work and that isn't very good for publicity.
  18. No response??
  19. Stuart, I send my yearlings to Maidstone and usually some go onto better things. All my good nat birds have had the same treatment. My latebreds get 230-260 miles, but the experienced yearlings go further.I can name 3 or 4 recent Gold cup west section winners off the top of my head that went to the coast as yearlings. Champion channel birds are born in the nest and no hurdle you put in front of them as yearlings phases them.
  20. Was that from Dunbar?

Spot on Mick, all my best distance birds look as if they are expending very little energy whilst flying. In fact, my son is obsessed with how a pigeon flies, often stating who flies the easiest. Hes not often wrong on this matter.
