I had a yearling cock that was unraced as a yb, it only had 1 training toss I believe but as a yearling flew every race in the programme except the comeback race. All the races were north winds that year except Worcester and he won 10th Open West Coast Combine from Cheltenham, 291 mls, north wind, 15th Open W.C.C Salisbury 351 mls north wind. I put him by for the year but the weekend before Sartilly Combine I spotted the form he was in, Ralston Graham singled him up from Langholm 60 mls, on the Saturday for me. I sent him to Sartilly 510 mls,on the Tuesday full pools and timed him at 9.15pm in a north east wind to win 1st club, 1st fed, 1st W.C.C , only 4 timed on the day and he was flying 30 miles further than 2 of them. This yearling flew over 2000 miles in its first ever season, and mostly into head winds. They've either got it or they haven't, trained or not!!!!
