Its funny nowadays how distance fanciers hold their obs back til about the 3rd race thinking they will come on slower. I don't think this works as well as everyone thinks. In the earlier days we used to send them all to the first 3 races to get fitness on them then pick any race after that before their main event. Im sending ALL my hens tomorrow so im not playing catch up with them when they are eggy etc.
