John, ive only just been accepted into a fed this year after 8 years in the wilderness, and in that time I still tried to help folk around me by doing more than my bit for the cause. Its not about individuals, its about the whole picture, we need a strategy that EVERYONE IS INVOLVED. What is meaningless in my eyes, is sitting back and watching the sport fall apart, without putting up a *expletive removed* fight.

Yer like most doomen John, thinking only of yersel regarding training ybs,which is quite understandable, but what about the pigeon sport being saved. Lets get back to looking at the big picture instead of ones own loft.

I know where you are coming from Geo training is very important to ybs as it sets them up for life, we have to tackle the problem head on.

Poor percy is struggling to rear its ybs at the moment, I think it is very charitable of the pigeon fancy to help raise these young peregrines every year by constantly breeding more ybs to feed them. I hear of so many fanciers now that fail to complete the yb program. I remember we bred 12-18 ybs and had to cull 1 or 2 at the end of the year to make room. No darkies then, just bundles of feathers and they still flew the program.How can we encourage new starts into this sport if we continue to kill it ourselves by making it impossible for novices to complete a daft wee yb program?? Im hearing of terrible yb returns from training, its time to put this to bed!!
