I've said it for years, the climate has changed and we get decent weather right up til December now. We should be racing our natural ybs from mid OCT- end NOV. No hawks, no clashing, no yb sickness, no brainer.

Heres a radical one for you, the Gold cup should be the longest race. It should be at least 600 miles to the central belt and liberation should be no earlier than 1pm. This gives EVERYONE a chance of winning the big yin.

Maidstone yearling National , Ypres yearling National , 520 mile race on same line, 550 mile race on same line ( Gold cup) 600 plus mile race on the same line ( longest race ) Stepping out in distance with each race like any other programme. YB Nationals 300 and 400 miles. We must keep testing the birds imo.

As I said to you on the night of the Gold cup Wattie, this hen is definitely one of the best distance doos in Britain , outstanding m8 and I really felt the buzz for you that night. Ive had a lot of ybs return in last 2-3 weeks Mick. I do believe these birds are learning a lot when they are out and a high percentage of them turn the corner and become decent birds.Hoping to see them perform next year with the schooling they've had.

Also, if you win money in the first national, you can use it to pay your sheet at the next race ( by writing on the entry sheet, use monies won )

When you ask the SNFC for YOUR money they give it to you. They do not hold onto it longer than they have to. We usually have our ob prize money before the yb national but it didn't happen this year for some reason. I'm sure we will get our cheques this week as its nearly 2 weeks after the yb national.
