  1. Not just as easy as that Walter. A lot of feds have some major issues to be dealt with ( including your own , I believe ?)and this can only be done by having a meeting of some sort. As I said before, Zoom meetings are possible because you can have a few members ( individual clubs ) in several locations working from different computers. It may sound complicated but I can assure you, its easy and definitely the way of the future. Alternatively, Covid 19 should be sorted by the turn of the year so AGMs can be held asap after that.
  2. Hope ye get well soon Kevin
  3. Agms will have to take place , whether its later than the normal date. Too many issues to address that cannot be sorted by a postal vote.
  4. No way Mick, ye need complete trust for that to happen lol
  5. Well done Billy, brilliant performance again.
  6. You only need one computer and 2 or 3 seats in the room
  7. The Zoom would suit yersel Ally and most people nowadays. Definitely the way forward, even without covid. It saves people travelling all over the place , especially in the winter.
  8. 100 participants Participants can join a meeting from their phone, desktop, mobile and tablet devices. How many participants can join the meeting? All plans allow up to 100 participants by default in each meeting (up to 1,000 with Large Meeting add-on).
  9. Andrew, it can happen that two organisations get up together and one gets humped and the other doesn't. Glasgow got hammered from Hexham when they got up besides Lanarkshire and Lanarkshire seemed to get a decent enough race. How does that work out?
  10. It has seen plenty of the UK JOHN.
  11. Got my 6th yb, 6/21 from Catterick 2 hours ago.Youd have thought it had flown 1000 miles. BOP, BOP, BOP
  12. Yes, address the root cause. That's a no brainer but who says you need to join Ayrshire North Road to fly that route? Any organisation can fly any route they choose. If it helps the OVERALL PIGEONS SURVIVAL RATE, its definitely worth thinking about. I want to fly south like anybody else in Scotland but without action, its just going to be pointless imo.
  13. You are totally missing the point I am trying to make Robert. I am not interested in politics on this occasion, I am only interested in the best outcome for our pigeons. I've stated that this fancier was getting good returns from the route they are flying, nothing more. I'm looking for solutions to our plight, without political views. You know the entries of every fed drastically diminish as the season goes on. The theory of long distance birds ( Old Scottish Strain ) homing better than sprint ones may hold water but has no credence after these pigeons have been attacked by BOP in my opinion. The proof of this is in the amount of rings bought each year by fanciers known to have distance birds ( myself included )The BOP is undoubtedly the most destructive thing the pigeon fancy has ever faced, apart from the fanciers themselves. It will, if possible, get even worse, that's guaranteed. Lets get it sorted !!!
  14. The Ayrshire north road line of flight seems to have less Bop anyway Kevin, that's what they have said. BOP is everywhere but totally saturated in some areas as you say.
  15. Ive also said for a few years that the best training you get is late October December. Do we have a few short races then ?
  16. Do we race our obs south and ybs north? Another one for the think tank
  17. Talking to a fella today m8, he got 38/39 from 120 MILES at weekend. He says returns are usually great but velocities always slower than expected
  18. I can hear the jungle drums starting already.' Derek Hay wants to go back down the west ' well that's COMPLETELY wrong. I only want peace for my pigeons to RACE home without getting constantly attacked by BOP en route. I was actually talking to someone today that told me flying the north road is very good regards the BOP problem. Is this another avenue to consider?
  19. When flying ybs from 60-80 miles in Scotland returns are usually good but when feds go over the 100 mile mark into the North East of England the problems start to occur. I could suggest, lets all go back down the west and clear the route down that way before racing commences. As long as they are healthy, the positives are 1. their wont be clashing.2. no Bop.3. then no problems in my opinion. All this can only work with the route being clear.Worth thinking about it, I'd say.
  20. No John, I sent 63 and got 53 together, only 49 registered and all in 22 seconds, ( not a few minutes as Johnno says ) and I got 63/63. A different story a couple weeks later when I sent 70 to Hexham and ended up with 51/70 after a few days. Our race at the weekend was unbelievable. It wasn't actually a race, it was an endurance. I ended up with 5/21 but that took 3 days expletive remove. As I said, action is needed immediately to save our sport. ps. I will be away training my latebreds on Saturday to help out, as I always do.
  21. lol. BOP as far as I'm concerned with our fed but I am all eyes and ears on Walters info. Scary stuff
  22. A wee meeting between officialdom is needed asap.
  23. ONLY 3% of the pigeons sent to Catterick with the Glasgow fed got home in race time. That was 5 birds on the night, the winner doing around 20 mph. What happened to them ? My first pigeon at 6.40pm was fresh as paint ( was it down hiding ?) and my 2nd pigeon at 8.03pm was absolutely exhausted. What would you say caused this disaster. IMHO, it was BOP, nothing more. A lot of good points on this thread but the bottom line is, 'TALK IS CHEAP' action is required NOW.
