A good doo is a good doo whether it is raced as a yb or not. If you don't race them as yb you will lose a few as yearlings but probably the ones you would have lost anyway as ybs. You could pick out half a dozen to race and send whats left every week. That way you will have the "fun" of racing and still have a wee team for next year. For me the season is short enough without missing yb races jmo tho. Good luck whatever you do

serious question Derek. its easy criticising after the race. there was nobody on here condemning controllers on Saturday morning but plenty after the event. only one childish reply to my question from someone who should know better

This is directed to all the expert race controllers on here. Will we get a race on Saturday? Based on the current forecast do you think the marking should be delayed or brought forward?

A club the size of the SNFC cant just make up rules on a whim. But reading all the expert opinions on here I look forward to a proposal at the AGM to introduce flexibility regarding races so that something is in place for next year.

You said earlier Friday was a better day. Make your mind up. SNRPC held yesterday. UNC struggled out of Eastbourne. And you seem to be having a go at the SNFC committee. It was the controllers decision to liberate and I`m sure they had doos on the transporter.

I think the other organisations held because of rain where they were liberating which was moving north. It was never going to be easy controlling a race from 500+ miles this weekend and hopefully the snfc have got it right

I could be wrong here but I don't feel that the SNFC had great returns From Maidstone. In fact I know that returns into Ayrshire were only about 50%. There could be various reasons for this but I know I had 9 home from 15 sent. Personally I feel that the Maidstone birds went straight up the east coast sheltering from the strong westerly wind behind the hills. When the birds had to turn into the wind very few did so homing from a North easterly direction. Therefore as far as I can see pigeons returning into a westerly location found the race very difficult irrespective of whether they were released in the east or west. I agree with Hotrod that clashing is almost impossible to avoid when racing from the east. There is only one solution to this and that is to race North and South convoys on different days. Joint releases would help as well. Plenty missing in the East as well
