  1. Am I missing something with you wee ladis' and lassies. Are you all doing this in good banter or are you really still taking pot shots at each other? If it is the latter then you have no chance of any reconciliation. Each has a point of view and which side of the fence you stand you beleive yours is right. Things have moved on and changes have happened, fact. We need to accept that each has an opinion and view of the rights and wrongs, get a grip and accept this. Then move onto working together keeping your differences under your hat. You have more in common than you have not!
  2. I know , what colour would you say it was?
  3. What was wrong with it. Where do I start. Firstly I got it almost the day it became available and it would not load up the birds from the word go. It had old software on it and this was easily rectified once we got used to it The following season me and the clock man tried to get it up and running but he had to keep calling the agent for help. Teething problems the agent said. I never have a clock set for club racing so we simulated some races which worked as did the training I set up. First race with the BICC, I marked at Manchester and the man there is pretty good on clocks but after an hour we could not get it to mark the birds, it did 2 and then stopped. I had them rubbered and got a new clock that day by driving from Manchester to B'ham and home that day! The new clock took to the club clock man, easy job except that it would not work full stop. Another clock sent out and ready to go. Or so I thought. Off to BICC again, problems again at marking, birds rubbered and marked. Another visit to B'ham, clock looked at and was told it was OK. Race day both birds were not clocked by system. I think this happened again with another BICC race. The second which initially had not worked was now ok and set up for texting , birds marked, problems again. Not recorded on race day again. ??) That was the very last time I had anything to do with the system. Asked for my money back as it had never worked at all in 12 months, got nowwhere. :B I was told it was the Unikon club system that was not compatable with the Bricon clock. I asked what Bricon were going to do about it and they said it was not their problem. :X All E-mails to Bricon in Belgium and agent went unanswered. So many phone calls made to try to get it right by clockman at my club and BICC. :B During marking at club problems with fanciers using Bricon system, odd ring not reconized when previous;y ok. Now with Unikon, purchased new system, loaded rings through secretary, raced and trained without any phone calls to agent, never had any issues with it. :)The blue tooth part of the Unikon is far superior than the Bricon speedy. Lost a lot of money on a system that to my mind was just not up to the job it claimed. :B PS in bed in dark typing off cuff so not my best work but hopefully you get the message.
  4. And we the English if we had a say would send them all back. The politicians I mean. Where I live in the midlands no one thinks themself as being British. We are English just like the Scots are Scotish the Welsh, Welsh. It is a pity that the Scotish fancy have broken into 2 factions. The trouble is that by joining both clubs nothing will change they will always remain 2 clubs. It needs the best one to grow and the other to fade away which I doubt will ever happen.
  5. I have had Bricon and Unikon. Bricon lost and is now gone. I would not have that system even if they sponsored me and gave it to me for nowt. Unikon in my experience does exactly what it says on the tin, not like the others who are just full of spin.
  6. These are the groups which get grants:- Not-for-profit organisation or community group - with governing document Community group (no governing document) Profit making organisation/private sector School Higher or further education institution or college Parish/town council Local authority/local education authority Other statutory organisation Individual The pigeon clubs are not open to the community, I beleive that the first 2 options maybe fit our application. The clubs have membership rules which can exclude people from joining so do not qualify. There are many other applications from other groups who beat the pigeon fancier clubs applications because you can just obtain membership without jumping through hurddles. You could always try as an individual.
  7. The thing is this is your view that they are not listening to the membership, you are entitled to it. The problem is not all are sharing your view, it would appear that maybe they are listening but disagree with the people who sit on your side of the fence on this issue?
  8. It is a pity it has not been changed wholey. I have joined many clubs over the years, nothing to do with pigeons. All I did was fill in an application form send my money off and hey presto I was in.
  9. Kirky you are right I missed that bit. It does away with the proposer and seconder. Pity it is just a mismash then and we are not really any furtehr forward.
  10. Oldyellow you are surely talking about someting which is already happening and nothing to do with the new rule. It will I am sure work like this:= I live in the same street as you but your club has never accepted my application because of some reason or another may be I fly a good bird. Under the new rule as long as I am in the radius of the club and not a defaulter I can simply send a letter and a cheque covering the entrance fee and I become a member automatically.
  11. Oldyellow I have no idea what your last post is all about?
  12. It does away with seconders and proposers so all you have to do as I read it, is to apply in writing witht he money to join and thats it you are in. As for trouble makers then you need to use other rules to tackle their bad behaviour.
  13. Current rule re memebership applications:- 159. Any person wishing to become a member of an Organisation must be proposed and seconded by members of the Organisation. All applications for membership must be in writing accompanied by any entrance fees required by the rules of the Organisation to be paid to the Organisation. Each such application shall be notified to the members of the Organisation or to the committee of the Organisation, as specified by the rules of the Organisation. The application shall be determined by a simple majority of those attending and voting at a meeting of the members or the committee, as prescribed by the rules of the Organisation. The application shall be determined at the next ensuing meeting of the members of the Organisation or the committee, as appropriate, but not at an annual general meeting of the Organisation. New rule to read:- "Any person wishing to become a member of an organisation must apply to the secretary of the organisation in writing. The application to be accompanied by any entrance fees required by the rules of the organisation to be paid to the organisation." Who said the commttee were behind the times. If you don't know what this is all about try reading yourreport on the RPRA OCTOBER MEETING. For my part I am all for it.
  14. 92 pages of adverts. If you just take an average of say half page costs about £86.00. Some are full pages and some are bits and pieces so the half page is a midway point. So 92 x 86=£7,912 in renenue for this weeks copy from advertisers.
  15. All veery nice.
  16. Very good way of finding who it is registered to. The downside is what are you going to do once you know where he lives? Speak to a solicitor or go to small claims or civil court. From what I have heard you pay £50 up front for cort cases and a lot more to get a solicitor involved so in most cases people don't bother. I would start witht he seller and if you are able write to them, tell them the time and date at which you intend to visit and collect your purchase. Take the amount in cash so they cannot argue that the cheque needs clearing before you can have it. The trouble with pigeons is that they can fly away, and if he says it got out and is lost it is hard to disprove their claimes and you are back to square one. Be interesting to know what Mr Seller has to say on the subject. Good luck
  17. Did the cheque get returned to you after you informed them the bird would not be released? The seller is firstly at fault and should not be allowed to sell on that site anymore or for a period of time etc. Bad form if the bird did not make what he wanted he should have put a reserve on it. If because the bird was not released by the seller and the site returned the cheque in that order etc I can not see how the site can be at fault at the begining but the way it conducts itself with that seler after is. How did the cheque get returned etc
  18. If you breed off these you could well get whites. Brother x sister or one paired back to the original white one.
  19. Cheap for a quality bird in my view. Hopefully he will go onto to become one of the well known SVR's.
  20. So the answer to who owns the best blackbirds must be ALF :X
  21. Roland this is the way of the world I am afraid. I did something very similar a few weeks back when the job stated that we were to be all given new shifts patterns etc. At first I was against them because of all the unnecessary upheaval and made my views known to my fellow workers. They were all of the same opinion. I then looked at it with my wife and we had actually got a better deal so I went back and told my fellow workers I was for it. The trouble was they were not and asked me to not agree to the new demands. Well I decided at the big AGM with all the bosses present that I would grasp the opportunity to try out my debating skills with the top knobs. I did and made what I thought was a good case on behalf of my fellow workers. My case was not accepted and as I spoke I could tell I was the only sailing ship on a busy sea. I looked towards my fellow workers who had asked me to argue their case. Guess what NO EYE contact with them and me and you would have thougth that I had never met them before the way they disowned me ;D They never once spoke up and supported me in any way which made me look like a trouble maker. I quickly closed my arguement and thought stuff you then. I asked them why they had not made their support known for the case that I was presenting on their behalf and each said this, "I could see that your case was not going down well" In other words you can sink on your own it has nothing to do with me! :B I have to admit I enjoyed my arguement and did not upset the bosses and felt I had put it across elequantly, which was well balanced and evidenced, this I beleive helped my own standing in the office. As to the cowards who hid in the backgound when the chips were down, they have achieved nothing. All I can say is People are the same world over, the difference is that they mainly just have a different package surounding their skeleton.
  22. There is no such thing as a black gene. The gene is called spread, it causes the pigeons colour to be spread all over, in the case of blue turns it black, red mealy makes it a barless. The chocolate has a type spreading which causes self yellows if dilute is present. Oldyellow has a self yellow pied hen.
  23. Glassfeather thanx for the pictures. Can you tell me what other colour/gene was used to ceate the white bar, ie dominant opal crossed with.....................
  24. Forgot to say, nice one. Have you a photo?
  25. It will be a Indigo coloured bird, looks like red but is not crossed with a dominant opal.
