  1. NFC Saintes up at 06.00 in Lt. W wind turning S en route. With the wind being quite strong the nearer the birds get to the UK it looks like being a fast race. I'd say one of the farthermost flyers will win it ( rain permitting) GOOD FLYING TO ALL
  2. Hopefully.
  3. Plymouth moderate southerly wind, almost complete cloud cover but not raining yet. 18 degrees. (07.15)

  11. Not a bad day then Ray.
  12. YBs, did they go up?
  13. BORDEAUX WITH NFC, WHAT ABOUT YOU?
  14. Yes, better weather forecast tomorrow, birds really hate these thundery conditions. It's ok here though.
  15. NFC (BORDEAUX) HELD TODAY BECAUSE OF THUNDER & LIGHTNING
  16. CORRECTION, Plymouth South wind not S.W :-/
  17. Plymouth cloudy, light S.W wind. 18 degrees C. (06.40). GOOD LUCK ALL.
  18. If I owned a tool shop would that make me a craftsman? Good pigeons are paramount, and they will win under poor management, but they will win year in, year out in good hands.
  19. In their hayday seb coe, steve ovett and steve cram wouldn't have seen the inside of an olympic stadium let alone win all those medals and break those records if they'd eaten takeaways on their way home from the pub. By the same token if those very athletes had been born with or developed a weakness such as a weak heart or a serious hip problem, no amount of good training and good diet would see them in the medals. My thoughts are that these fanciers we see at the top from the distance events know good pigeons when they see them and they know how to get the best out of them by good management.
  20. Just for the record, after mutually agreeing a refund it still took them TWO WEEKS to refund me! Be warned, this could happen to you.
  21. Can be very useful in stock loft, need alot of patience to race them and its hit and miss I 've found.
  22. Stick with it Matthew, T-T is right, there are more downs than ups, but like he says the ups will be talked about forever. This season, I can think about two local fanciers who were having a bad time of it just prior to them producing phenomenal wins!.... they soon forgot their misfortunes. IT'S ALWAYS DARKEST JUST BEFORE THE DAWN.
  23. I KNOW SOME WEATHER MAPS HAVE THE PLYMOUTH AREA DOWN AS A LIGHT N. E. OR EAST WIND, ALL I CAN SAY, IS THAT WHERE I AM IT IS A LIGHT S.E. WIND AND I LIVE IN PLYMOUTH, WOULDN'T WANT ANYONE TO GET CAUGHT OUT TODAY. IT IS NOW 18 DEGREES AND RISING.
  24. PLYMOUTH MAINLY BLUE SKIES, 16 DEGREES, LIGHT S.E. WIND. GOOD DAY!
  25. Probably a week before ( from 50Mls). I know some fanciers dont bother, if they are flying well around the loft then why waste the petrol? Every trainer, like every race, drains the birds' reserves. To finish first, first you must finish. What do other fanciers think?
